Moderators CJ Vogel Posted September 23 Author Moderators Share Posted September 23 I asked Sarkisian about the proclivity of Arch Manning throwing the football downfield as the QB at Texas. So far this season, 25.5% of Manning's pass attempts have traveled 20+ yards. Sark says it was the byproduct of a few things – 1. the gameplan had a lot of deep shots on it, and 2. Manning learning when and how to check the ball down instead of forcing it down the field. Sarkisian says it was a great learning moment for Manning to get those reps and realize when to check it down, but also for him to realize when to call the freeby plays and to get a deeper understanding of Manning's tendencies in game.
