Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted November 3 Moderators Share Posted November 3 The SEC Race: Potential knockout games this weekend Five teams legitimately remain in the race to advance to the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta December 7. That is barring a number of upsets that change the course, to be clear. This weekend, it's Georgia on the road and LSU at home with difficult contests that could shift the conference race. The five teams with one loss are Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M, Tennessee and LSU. Four of the contenders play each other later in the month, but there are still tough games before the head-to-head battles to get to Atlanta take place. OnTexasFootball provides a run down of the five teams schedules to start the week. Georgia (5-1) Remaining schedule: 11/9 at Ole Miss 11/16 vs. Tennessee 11/23 vs. UMass 11/30 vs. Georgia Tech Georgia heads to Oxford with Jaxson Dart having a lot of confidence, and Carson Beck arguably playing the worst of any SEC quarterback with 11 INT's in the last five games. Texas A&M (5-1) Remaining schedule: 11/9 bye 11/16 New Mexico State 11/23 at Auburn 11/30 vs. Texas Texas A&M has to navigate the game at Auburn to set up a winner gets in the playoff scenario game vs. Texas to end the regular season. Texas (3-1) Remaining schedule: 11/9 vs. Florida 11/16 at Arkansas 11/23 vs. Kentucky 11/30 at Texas A&M The game at Texas A&M is still shaping up as a winner locks up a spot in the college football playoff, as of right now. Tennessee (4-1) Remaining schedule: 11/9 vs. Mississippi State 11/16 at Georgia 11/23 vs. UTEP 11/30 at Vanderbilt The Vols have the toughest road schedule remaining to navigate, with the Georgia game a knockout game. Rhenk6768
I could see Georgia potentially losing to ole miss and Tennessee with as bad as Carson beck is playing. I could see A&M losing to Auburn especially with moss out. Texas is in control of our own destiny. If we clean up the offense and Quinn gets back to form then we will be fine
Assistant Regional Manager
The coach that loses the Bama-LSU game next week is going to have fans putting for sale signs in their yard. A&M gets to start their Texas prep today. New Mexico State and Auburn pose zero threat. Hugh Freeze is reaching new lows every week. If Georgia sneaks out of Oxford with a win they are sitting pretty. Tennessee has not looked right all year but did just enough to beat Bama and will probably sneak into the playoff at 10-2. Thing that would worry me if I'm A&M ... Auburn is 0-3 at home in SEC play. They are due for a win. Aggies should win the game, but damn if Auburn isn't due to win a home game. Maybe they are just too beat down at this point. We shall see.
WestlakeLonghorn
I think we get a Texas LSU SEC Championship. I don’t see either team losing the rest of the way. LSU at home vs Bama gets it done. I think we curb stomp Aggie. Our defense has so much speed to counter a fast run first QB. we will have two overcome two insane road games with fans that build their entire existence as individuals to beating Texas.

Having Bama the following week is likely the basket Auburn is going to put all their eggs in, especially after last year and the 4th and 30. cmk4pres
We better learn to pick up blitzing LBs because Fla and aggy brought them all night 5
Jerky
Texas needs to go 7-1 to avoid the 6-2 ties.

The way that rivalry goes is the games are close at Jordan-Hare and complete beatdowns in Tuscaloosa. Even with Bama down, I'm not sure anyone expects this Auburn team to go on the road and keep it within 20 of the Tide.
