Zak Kern Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 Hi Longhorn nation! Drop your Longhorn memorabilia in the thread here. I'm 27 so just getting started, but I'll start. Acquired some new ones between the two images but, A Ricky signed jersey with "HT 98" and a VY signed jersey. I've got the Colt Mccoy signed picture as well. The 3 frames on the wall were sent by the University after I wrote them a letter in grade school for a school project! 2 of them are trading cards maybe? that I just kept together and framed and the other is a picture with the entire 2009 team, signed by all the players. Feel grateful and lucky to acquire these, thank you for sharing below! 3 Quote
Chioubaccalovin Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 I have a set of the Olympic weights from the football team in my home gym. The orange ones are from Mac Brown era. The chrome weights went into the weight room in Mac’s last year, and are still being used today. 4 Quote

Moderators Blake Munroe Posted February 9, 2024 Moderators Posted February 9, 2024 Here’s a very small portion of mine. This is stuff yall see daily on Coffee and Football, but an up close view. Autographed by this year’s team: Limas Sweed, Nate Jones, Billy Pittman Rodney Terry autographed basketball at the top. The Baseball at bottom left is autographed by Augie and the 2011 CWS team. Drew Stubbs autographed the top middle ball. Autographed by 2007 football team. Self explanatory on these: Some graded autographed cards. The Worthy is a /25. My fav is beside it, the dual Early/Ricky autograph. More cards. Both they only made 10 of. I own 2 of the 10 of Sanders. Only one Quinn, however. 5 Quote

That's my favorite autographed ball. Also, I accidentally was trying to edit my post and instead nearly edited yours lol oops! But my edit was that there's a Drew Stubbs autographed ball in the top middle. 1 Quote
Moderators Jeff Howe Posted Friday at 03:47 PM Moderators Posted Friday at 03:47 PM Give this a click, if you can. The National Sports Collectors Convention is in Chicago this weekend, and I highlighted Bijan as a non-quarterback card collectors can target at The National ahead of the NFL season: https://www.si.com/collectibles/five-nfl-non-quarterbacks-to-target-at-the-national 8 Quote
FootLaw Posted Friday at 07:20 PM Posted Friday at 07:20 PM Thanks @Jeff Howe In general, we know defensive cards are less valued. Do you ever see that changing for DLinemen with the increasing value placed on their positions/contracts? The Texas grad in me is still hoping to pull a good TSweat one of these days. Got my BMurphy already. On the hunt for ACollins. 1 Quote

JMarquette Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Bijan’s signature has improved so much, it’s crazy. I have his Bowman Chrome U signature and then a prizm - it’s awesome Quote
NotGerryHamilton Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Just recently picked these up at a local card show. Been snagging up as much Bijan as I can lately. 1 Quote

I've also picked up a decent amount from COMC. Shows can be overwhelming, but a local shop is a good way to pick up cards. Facebook Marketplace and groups on Facebook are hit or miss, depending on what you want to buy. My best advice is to get to know the eBay search function for SOLD ITEMS. That's the best way to figure out a good price on something before you buy, without subscribing to an app or online database like Card Ladder or Market Movers. 1 Quote

I always think of the Juan Gonzalez reverse negative from 1990 Donruss when I see that logo. Quote

This is probably my best Bijan card, which I got for peanuts in a lot on Facebook because it's not licensed. Quote
Moderators Jeff Howe Posted 2 hours ago Moderators Posted 2 hours ago I merged this with an old thread on the board. Let's see if this one picks up some steam since we've got more than a few collectors in the community. Quote

Waxahorn Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) The Memorial Stadium rededication monument, placed at the top of the north end zone in 1977. Attempted theft by a small group of aggroids in the mid80s. They dropped it, damaged it, and got arrested. The replacement monument was moved along with the bronze war memorial during the stadium expansion. The original resides at my house Edited 1 hour ago by Waxahorn spelling 1 Quote
