Quinncent McManning, Jr.
You can argue sos all you want. Big 10 teams aren’t really better. But these pundents don’t take into account that Texas has a historically good defense. And THAT needs to be considered when talking about deserving teams. Look at these stats
harveycmd
It's really strange stuff. I just listened to some BYU goobers complaining to Berry Tramel about the Longhorns ranking. Their logic was that Georgia beat Texas worse than Kansas beat BYU. The ability of some of these guys to suspend all realistic logic is amazing. 1

Alex Butler
Just win baby! We lost to a very motivated Georgia team and had our worst game in 2 years offensively. The haters are gonna hate but we can’t help that the teams that were supposed to be good on our schedule were horrible this year. When was there ever a time that you have Michigan, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Florida on your schedule and go 3-1 against them out scoring them by a combined 129-63 and have a “soft” schedule?!?! It is what it is, but if we win we can just shut all those doubters up!

Orngblud05
Texas SOS is currently 35 and likely top 25 in 2 weeks. Indiana is 106.
harveycmd
I don't know why I keep listening to BYU guys other than it's amusing, but they're still complaining about the Texas schedule. Why do they care? It has nothing to do with BYU. We're not keeping them out of the playoff. We're not a rival of theirs. Do they listen to nonsense in the national media and then repeat it? The Longhorns will end with a SOS around 30. We won't have a loss to a marginal or clearly inferior opponent. Every win but one to this point has been by multiple scores. When someone actually talks football about Texas, the knock they come up with is that Texas hasn't scored forty every game. No one else has either. Texas hasn't looked like they are clearly the best, but they have certainly been among the best.

The reality for them is they have zero to compare to Texas, what they’ve done is manage to lose to inferior opponents in a conference that is so weak 3 of its top contenders this season were bottom feeders in their respective leagues last year. The cougars path to the CFP required them to win and was not connected with UT at all. Perhaps they should stay in their lane and focus on their lack of execution against inferior teams not mormoan so much about a great Texas team. If they do manage to squeak in somehow, I hope we get to play them, but man oh man they really don’t want any part of us this year. We will gladly pick up where we left off last year when we waxed them with our back up QB abd still left about 28 points on the table.

Why do they pick out Texas rather than Indiana, or Penn State, or Notre Dame, or Miami? The only reasonable answer is literally the word "Texas." As far as BYU goes, they needed the refs to beat a horrible Utah team. They have no shot and their default response is "Texas." That's also the case for about thirty other schools. I thought when we moved to the SEC, that would stop. It's worse now.

You hit the nail on the head, because it’s Texas and there’s enough haters out there to get people stirred up nationally. Plus we’ve been down for long enough and “been back” enough that makes us an easy and fun target for folks to pick on. Indiana is the Cinderella, they’ve never been this good and no one really wants to be that dream killer other than sociopaths like Buckeye fans lol. The others have a reputation that they live up to of being overrated abd folding under pressure. Then there’s Miami, you gotta watch them because they’ll stab your a$$ they’re loco guey!
