Not true. There is a week off between the conference title games and first round. CFP games start December 19th.

Thanks for the correction.  I had thought it went straight through.

Got to thinking that it might benefit us losing to the ags and not playing in the championship game. Why? Because we whip the ags and lose to da dawgs we play again the next week.  No time off . So only one real option. Whip em both.

All the teams get a week off after championship weekend (Dec 7) before the playoffs begin Dec 19

Would perfer to the 5th or 6th seed for CFP.

I want us to keep winning every game and get a bye first round of the playoffs. Worst case scenario to me is if we lose this week and then A&M beats Georgia in the SEC title game.  That would place a three loss A&M team with the automatic entry into the playoff and could leave a two loss Texas team on the outside looking in.  Really hard to predict though as it depends on what others do.  Outside of that scenario I think we are in the playoff.

There is just no way you can strategically try and lose the A&M game. From a recruiting perspective it may be the single most important game we have on our schedule given how many recruits we go head to head on.

go play as hard as you can and let the chips fall where they may.

That’s the most interesting for sure. A three loss Georgia team? I can see that, but not a three loss Alabama team. They lost to a very bad OU team.
