Barron, Banks Named Finalists for Postseason Awards

A pair of Longhorns have been named as Finalists for two college football postseason awards, annually presented to the nation's best at each position.

DB Jahdae Barron was named as a Thorpe Award Finalist Tuesday afternoon.

Barron has four interceptions and has not allowed a touchdown on the season.

And LT Kelvin Banks has been named a finalist for the 2024 Outland Award trophy, presented annually to the nation's top interior lineman.

Texas DL T'Vondre Sweat won the award in 2023.

The other finalists for the Outland include Michigan DL Mason Graham and Ole Miss DL Walter Nolen.

Other finalists for the Thorpe Award include Georgia's Malaki Starks and Ohio State's Caleb Downs.

Barron should win. Im bias obviously I think Banks should win but not as clear cut imo

Love this.  Both are very deserving. Also, this can’t hurt recruiting at those positions in the future.

Thoroughly surprised no travis hunter for the Thorpe finalist. That’s actually a good thing because it should be jahdae’s. Still can’t believe Kade’s decision to play for a swiss cheese LSU secondary over our’s.

Two years ago I finished last in my fantasy football league and had to run a $5k after eating three crunchwrap supremes. I haven't been to Taco Bell since.

Since the other two Outland finalists are DL’s, Banks has in effect been declared the best offensive lineman in the country!

No question in my mind he is and the draft will prove it even more. The two sacks he did give up this year were because of quinn.
