Awful FT shooting nearly cost us the game, but great defense down the stretch. Terry has a lot of work to do, because this is a group of talented individuals that aren't playing as a team.

I don’t see a team. It looks like Coach Tre.

Weaver with the exclamation point.

We win by 4 in a game Pomeroy projected us to win by 1.  Not a huge victory, but a road win against a P5 team that is pretty good.

No Vinson.  I don't know if I like seeing that.  Onyema has some uses, but he is very limited on offense.  Codie got a few minutes but did not show up in the stat line.

Way too much one on five stuff from Kaluma, Mark, and Johnson, but a) Kaluma owned the boards, b) Mark made some really good plays on defense, and c) Johnson hit some big shots, so I guess we'll just have to suffer through their bouts of tunnel vision.

Yep gonna be a long year but you know CDC will redeem himself on the only HC whiff he’s had at Texas as AD.

He really didn't have a choice. Terry made the decision very difficult by going to the Elite Eight. Terry has back to back wins in the tournament the 1st coach to do that since Barnes in 2007-2009.

This offense is lacking movement off the ball, and Terry made a really stupid decision at the end of the 1st half. With 4.1 seconds left, Onyema had no reason to be on the court, really he should have put his 5 guards in the game. I also don't like Johnson getting the ball going backwards near halfcourt. They need to be screening for him off ball so that he can get the ball going down hill, he's a willing passer with the ball, but the offense just is stationary and watching him dribble with under 10 seconds.

I thought Pope played pretty well, but more turnovers than assists and the big missed ft at the end.

Team win.  Nobody is the hero.

And that is the way it should be with this team.  If they play as a unit and move the ball, they can be great, like they were in that stretch with back to back open threes or the stretch with a lot of motion to get Shedrick the ball twice in the lane, but when they devolve to Johnson, Mark, or Kaluma going one on five, then they are meh on offense and will rely on defense to win it for them.

But this was a good win.  It wasn't a great win, but any road win against a P5 team in the Pomeroy top 75 is a good win.  It might be a q1 win by season's end, so let's not complain about it.

There have to be consequences for the one on five shots and that includes Tre.

Looks like that final tally in the challenge will be 14-2.  Auburn went down to Duke, but Mississippi State beat the snot out of Pitt, Alabama clubbed UNC, Vandy handled Va Tech, and Florida nuked Virginia.

Pomeroy will have SEC +3 over the Big 12 tomorrow.  In fact, Big 12 is now trailing the Big Ten since KU lost bigly to Creighton.

Yeah, I can't believe how winning a road game while being down a top player against a P5 team that could make the tournament is supposed to be an indictment of a coach.

I will just whisper this to you Bierce. On that last play, who took Pope out and Mark in? You can’t answer that because the team apparently doesn’t have somebody to make that call. Maybe Vinson made the switch.

Neither can you.  What's your point?

Glad we won, the ACC is likely the #5 P5 conference behind the SEC, Big 10, Big 12, and Big East.

I will say this also, games like this are 100000 times better for the team than our current bog of non-conference scheduling. We need more games like this both home and on the road, than beating those tomato cans.

Pomeroy has 364 teams listed, our current OOC schedule ranks 333. That's ridiculous and Del Conte needs to put a stop to it if Terry doesn't.

And that is just the completed part of our OOC schedule.  Once we finish our OOC schedule, we will probably drop into the mid 340s.
