Sarkisian's success with Flood at Alabama had little to do with them, and more to do with the talent that Saban had acquired. You aren't ever going to duplicate that talent level again in the portal and NIL era. This is the lesson Sarkisian seems incapable of learning. His arrogance thinks it was his scheme, when it was obviously the once in a lifetime talent he had to run it. Frankly, this is where you need Del Conte to put on his big boy pants, or if not him, because Sarkisian is likely on the same level as Del Conte in the Texas AD, then you need Eltife involved, if not him then the next head of the BOR that gets installed after Eltife's term is up in February. 10 wins is not what the stated goal inside the AD, it's competing for championships. You can't do that with a scheme that the college game has left behind, with an OL coach that can't probably pick the G-C-G, a STs team coach that has serious off the field problems and coaches historically bad STs play, a LB coach that gets a DUI during a game week, or a QB coach that has taken two 5-stars near perfect recruits and turned both of them into JAGs that have bad football IQ, fundamentals, and inability to process defenses at an elite level. Throwing the football was never a problem for either, but consistent ball placement 1000% is a problem.

Bama's defense can be had. This weekend's game against Georgia is going to be the most complete team Alabama has played so far. We will see what happens when they get punched in the mouth. Though I will say Georgia's schedule so far this season has been pretty breezy as well.

Sarkisian has always had a good gameplan for them and gets the chunk runs we have been missing. Two weeks to get healthy and figure out how to get the running game and screen game going. Got to expect teams to run all out blitzes so have to adjust the route concepts to mix in a lot of quick hitters and take the candy teams are going to give us. Wingo and Coleman are good enough athletes to turn short throws into explosives as is Bishop.

Can't lauch into the head and neck of a defenseless player. Moore was sliding which made him defenseless. It is an easy call.

I am not sure what the eff happened between the final whistle against OSU and the last 8 quarters of play, but Sarkisian has not done a great job with this team. Luckily we are 4-0, with everything left to play for and two weeks to prepare for what we will a very wounded OU team that will only be playing to ruin our season. Sarkisian needs to get this crap under control and figure out how to attack teams that are going to blitz the eff out of the running game to set up negative plays. Manning is lost again right now, as he's not a pocket passer. No matter what happens this season, Sarkisian really needs to move on from Flood, Banks, and Milwee. The OL was trash again today, STs are again awful under Banks, and we've had 6 seasons of Ewers/Manning not improving a single inch at the QB position. You'd think a guy like Sarkisian that has had everything taken from him, would figure out that he can't be prideful with his offense. Manning needs help and Sarkisian continues to throw everything on his plate. That said, Sarkisian's decision to hire Muschamp has saved this season, they would 2-2 right now with Kwiatowski's defense. That is what is so disappointing with his failure to move on from the offensive coaches that are under delivering results, because he was able to do the exact opposite with the defense.

Thank goodness for the defense tonight, Arch was crap the entire night. I think his eyes need to be checked. It was really bad, easily the worst performance of his career at Texas. If he can't take 2 more steps forward, we are losing 2-3 games.

Vanilla hangover or not, Manning needs to be much better. His effort today was the worst of his career at Texas, starting with his 1st pass he was never locked in.

Miami's defense is trash. They are going to have outscore everyone this year.
