Steamboat Willie Posted January 18 Posted January 18 The portal giveth and the portal take the away. I am pleased that we are returning so many players from the 2024 roster. However, I am a little disappointed that we were unable to add so few players (difference makers) from the portal. Hopefully, better players will be available and we will have more success onboarding them, while simultaneously not shedding players that can contribute in future seasons. Quote
DanielOnorato Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I think Texas has such great depth and talent that they have to be very particular and have been in the transfer portal. If a guy isn't going to improve the roster it's not worth allocating funding to it and they can't magically make guys appear. I think Zachariah Branch would have been a guy to allocate the funding to however his brother was not. Cole Brevard and Travis Shaw were nice additions, I expect Spring portal movement as far as additions and subtractions. 2 Quote

Who did we miss on that you really wanted? "Pleased with player retention" is the understatement of the year. What they did was phenomenal. And if we were more portal crazy, you're looking at losing guys you don't want to lose. 6 Quote
