Last time I was there, the Astros front office workers were eating there, including Drayton McLane and Hunsicker. It was at a for real grocery store that had a pretty good sized sit-down eating area at the deli. I want to say it was Whole Foods or a Central Market...and I think it was off the West Loop in Bellaire area or maybe inner loop off 59/69. It was around 20+ years ago. Lots of Astros discussion was also had at these lunches. I remember being there the day after Albert Pujols launched a small spherical object into Earth's outmost atmosphere during the playoffs for a walk-off. I want to say it was off Lidge. There were some guys at these lunches that were plugged in with Mack. Edited February 7 by Migas & Fajitas change a word 1 Quote

The original was just outside of downtown and at least when I was going there (late 70s/early 80s) was more of an icehouse than grocery. I heard they opened another in Bellaire but that was long after I left the area. 1 Quote
MikeH Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Born and raised in Nashville, TN. Moved to Athens, TX for work initially in 2009 and did my Masters at UT/fell in love with the school while I was down here. Went back to Nashville for a while but just moved back to the Austin area about a year and a half ago. In Leander now. Nashville is great and will always be home but ever since I set foot in Texas, this has felt like it was where I was meant to be! Quote
akrupa23 Posted February 7 Posted February 7 San Antonio, born and raised! I really wish we had a greater talent pool here. It's really fun when you can go see a Texas recruiting target like Michael Terry. Quote

There was also a place called Christian's Tailgate that also made a mean burger. Not sure if that place is still around. Edited February 7 by Migas & Fajitas Add comment Quote
