The most successful Texas Longhorns head football coach this century is catching this much flack.  That’s wild.  Regardless of how his last four seasons went, 2001-2009 Brown is better than 2023-present Sark.  Sark’s gotta stack some hardware at some point to surpass Brown.  But yes I agree he shouldn’t be involved with the football program in any way outside of maybe how DKR was there back in Brown’s heyday.

I think this was the entire point. No one would argue he didn't have success here.

They can never just retire, have to linger around. He had his time, been properly thanked and criticized. Thanks but no thanks to any role at Texas , fundraising or whatever. Just my opinion . Nothing worse than a old coach  meddler hanging around  that can't let go. Hell open a cookie shop with Sally and be done🤣

Look at what Bob Stoops’ meddling did to OU.  Their administration can’t let that era go.  I’m grateful for him bringing Texas football back from the dead but time to close that chapter of your life completely.  Maybe be in the studio as an analyst or something.

I was there on Monday. Colt introduced Mack. He mentioned that he and Shipley were out riding horses freshman year and his got stuck in the mud and it was a whole ordeal. But it caused him to miss an etiquette class with Sally. He said he got there at the end and Sally was so mad she didn’t make him cookies until his junior year.

Stoops left OU in good shape ( conference championship) Mack left a train wreck at Texas and did the  same at UNC. Mack is about only Mack.

OU requested Stoops assistant after Riley left.

Because they can’t let that era go.  Even some OU fans think he shouldn’t have an office on campus.  Hired a guy w no HC experience, who then hired a RB coach and OC from their glory days even though more qualified candidates were available.

Love Mack but his self created press junket has been bizarre to say the least. This is a new era a long ways from his Jamail / McCombs run at Belmont. Time to go fishing.
