Made a quick stop over at CE King High School, a familiar stop for anyone who has followed me for a bit. This was my second time this semester to stop by as well.

King has some very intriguing young talent. Headlined by 2028 WR/RB Dillon Mitchell who ran 10.1 flat at the Texas Stare UIL track meet in April. 

2028 DL Oswald Jacques threw shot 57’ and disc 163’ as a freshman as well. Both are nationally elite as a freshman. He stands 6’2”+ and 290 pounds.

First stop this week is at Wacahachie High a bit south of Dallas. 

Plenty of talent, headlined by 2026 WR Kohen Brown, who just decomitted from USC. 

2027 QB Jerry Meyer III is a really interesting quarterback prospect to keep tabs on. Texas visited a week ago and is set to return on Thursday for one final look. 

2027 DB JayQuan Snell is a huge DB prospect next cycle. He reminds me a ton of Jelani McDonald from a physicality and measurables perspective. He visited in early April.

Had one of the most prolific passing seasons in Nevada state history before moving to waxahachie last fall.

Chris Jackson will accompany AJ Milwee on Thursday for a second trip to Waxahachie. 

26 WR Kohen Brown recently decommitted from USC. Texas keeping him warm for now, with no offer coming just yet. 

We will see if that changes on Thursday.

The Waxahachie QB is up to 6–feet and 170 pounds currently  

Meyer right now is #3 or #4 on the board for both schools per someone in the know of his recruitment.

Texas is staying hot in communication for JayQuan Snell. 

Orphey was by last week. The highlight of Snell’s trip to Austin was the sit down meeting with Steve Sarkisian as well.

If i had to place a school in pole position for Snell, it would probably be Texas A&M. The Aggies had three different position coaches stop by Waxahachie today, all of which made it a point to greet Snell during the school day. 

Early on, it appears A&M is setting the tone in this recruitment.

Mitchell has said previously wanted to make the Olympics, but earned a “Superman” nickname from his gridiron performance growing up.

Texas has yet to stop by King this spring. But they are certainly familiar with a number of top prospects here.

I’m a fan of Braylon Lane as a receiver prospect. Plenty of interest filing in this spring as A&M and a handful of others have offered.

Probably closer to 6–1 and built like a house. Excited to see what his junior tape looks like this fall.

Texas offered Carter back in June of 2024. Though there hasn’t been any communication recently.  
Carter also has been dealing with a shoulder injury from a year ago.

We’ll see what it turns into for Snell. Texas had been rather absent until his visit in the spring. That has since changed and I expect it to continue to move positively for Texas as the recruitment ages.
