I am way more excited for the guy who’s actually had production at that position on this level, Endries. Townsend’s going to need time to develop. If he would’ve got here for spring ball i would’ve maybe thought differently.

This thread made me think back to the 2005 National Championship season.  There were several freshmen with no production in DI football,  that figured heavily into that season - Jamaal Charles (878 yds rushing, 13 TDs), Henry Melton (432 yds rushing, 10 TDs), Ramonce Taylor (513 yds rushing, 265 yds receiving, 15 TDs), Quan Cosby (yeah, I know, he was 22 yo as a freshman, but still 270 yds receiving, 2 TDs) and those are just on offense.

We don't win that NC without those first-year players.
