  1. I bet Tech was advised that the crazy injunction was going to get overturned which would mean the State of Texas would no longer support them. I was really hoping that Sorsby would play and then all their wins would get vacated. That would have been a more just ending.
  2. So, you decided not to address one point that I made and insult me instead. You come off of somebody who’s not very bright.
  3. You are wrong and that’s OK. The AG’s job is to represent the state in legal matters. Texas Tech is being pressured by the Big 12 to ignore a judge’s ruling. You try ignoring a judge’s ruling in your life and report back here.
  4. omg....that is literally the job description of the State Attorney General. He is defending Texas Tech, a state entity that is abiding by a court order, against the Big 12. The Big 12 is demanding that a state university violate a court order. This has nothing to do with being a Democrat or a Republican or a Longhorn or Red Raider. This has everything to do with the (in my view) terrible ruling by the judge. Paxton is simply doing his job, but apparently most here are too biased to see the obvious.
  5. That is absolutely untrue. Paxton is doing his job by advocating for a state entity that is directly affected by this scandal. Drummond is advocating for a state entity that is indirectly affected.
  6. No, you don't understand. Paxton is literally doing his job by representing a state university. Burnt orange glasses are good for Saturdays in the Fall, but for other days I prefer the truth.
  7. Texas Tech is a state school. The Attorney General is protecting a state entity. I can tell a lot of you don't like Paxton, and none of you like Texas Tech, but the truth still matters. A judge made his ruling in favor of a state entity. The AG is protecting the interests of the state entity. I personally think the Judge's ruling is insane, but that is not the point here. The NCAA has appealed. I think they will win in court making Paxton's letter a moot point. No matter what happens, Texas Tech has turned this into a PR nigthmare and they have tarnished their reputation for a generation.
  8. I did not realize that Paxton is doing his job. The Attorney General is representing Texas Tech, which is a state university . Paxton would do the same thing for the University of Texas if the same thing were happening to the UT quarterback.
  9. Nothing surprises me anymore. Most of DC is compromised by money, so Austin should be no different. Thank goodness for the internet and citizen journalists- this whole affair would have been swept under the rug pre-internet.
  10. I am not sure I can remember a school making a decision that blew up so quickly and negatively like this. Crazy.
  11. The rumor mill online has several Big12 teams planning to boycott Texas Tech. This debacle is spectacularly bad for the Lubbock billionaire. What a mess.
  12. lol, you folks are funny. If this happened 5 years ago, all of this crowd would be saying "Tech belongs in the SEC with all the other cheaters". This kind of thing has always happened, but we did not have the internet and it was always swept under the rug. Sports is so much cleaner now than it used to be. There is far less cheating because we live in a world where anybody can be a reporter and social media is listening. Nobody should be surprised that Texas Tech is fighting to get their star QB on the field. This is also backfiring in the most glorious way. I hope BS plays. I hope they are forced to vacate all of their games. College football will be better for it.
  13. lol, Hitler, Stalin, Mao and every other desperate that ever killed 1 million people or more said the exact same thing. I prefer order and courtrooms. As I said, I believe in our court system it usually gets it right. I still think the eventual outcome will be that Texas Tech will have to vacate any wins and their season will be ruined.
  14. The only problem I see is one side is arguing emotionally about right wrong, and the other side is arguing from a legal viewpoint.
  15. You caught me. I am in a Red Raider club and we all hate morality. Nothing escapes you!
  16. lol, after I sent my last message I thought the same thing.
  17. This is a great post. This is why Pete Rose should never have a place in the baseball hall of fame. Gambling kills sports everytime. It is a red line that must be enforced.
  18. That is subjective. This is a legal issue so wrong and right get decided by the system. I actually still have lots of faith in our courts. I think the decision to let BS play is a bad one, and I think the system will correct itself as long as the NCAA fights.
  19. Tech is not doing anything "wrong". They are going through the legal process. If there is a bad guy here, it is the judge. I hope BS plays 3/4 of the season, then gets ruled ineligible, and then Texas Tech has to forfeit their games. That is my preferred outcome.
  20. I don't want to sound like a homer, but having a top 5 signing class in 2027 and beyond just means that you won't have money for the portal. The portal is a superior way to find proven talent. Signing class ranking no longer tell the whole story.
  21. I honestly never had much hope for Jonah Williams. There is too much talent on this roster for any two sport star not named Bo Jackson. Part time football in the SEC is almost impossible- especially on a team that might play up to 17 games. If I were Jonah's Daddy, I would tell him to concentrate on baseball and pray for a 20 year MLB career.
  22. January might be considered one of the better DTs of the last 20 years at Texas if he played in a different era. The DT room has been fantastic the last couple of years, and I don't know if Okam or Nelson would have seen much of the field either if they were in January's place. I think January is about to emerge as a star this fall.
  23. What??? A trial lawyer is going to vote like all the other trial lawyers??? Shocking!!!
  24. With zero hesitation or regrets, I wilk kick Tebow to the curb. OVERRATED.
  25. oof...I am glad you and I aren't teammates. 😉
