Projecting The Top 8 Seeds — UPDATED MAY 26 — Host Sites Announced - Texas Slipping?

I was going to say I slightly disagreed with this thinking I’d switch 2 and 3, but I did more research. 

Vandy has the No  1 RPI. 

Vandy with 17 Q1 wins, Arkansas with 14. Vandy with 11-1 against Q2 and Arkansas is 2-2.

D1Baseball still has the Longhorns as the No. 1 seed. Here is who they project in the regional:

3. Arizona State

4. Houston Christian

I think Texas is 8-4 against other teams in projected Top 8.

Correct… with three of those four coming to the same team.

For Texas, it comes down to how much the committee values momentum.  Our overall resume is clearly the best in the field, but we’re probably the worst among the top six in results over the last four weeks.

That Clemson regional projection is tough, man. Clemson, UCLA, Kentucky, Bryant

As is Georgia Tech. 
Georgia Tech, Florida, Oklahoma State, Murray State

Florida is going to be scary no matter where they land. 

ACC getting hosed on those two. 😂

The good news is they don’t have a bad series loss. Arkansas is 5 in RPI and Florida is 17. 

And they have a recent series win over 26 (OU).

With the exception of SEC regular season finish, Vandy wins all the metrics comparisons.  I think the aggy at D1 has it correct.

Regular season means more than a 4 day tourney. I think Texas will be the #1 seed

Vandy peaking at right time.   We’ve lost 7 of our last 11 games.   Longhorn pitching and offense have been off down the stretch, especially after Jared Spencer injury.   imho, I won’t be surprised at all if Vandy gets top seed.

By comparison, Vandy is 12-3 in prior 15 games.
