  1. I don’t see this getting to Thune today. The SEC/Big10 will have revisions no need to rush through this - if Cruz thought he had the votes, this bill would have been on Thune’s desk already. He need the Big10/SEC to sign off on the bill. If there is anything in there that is fluff - pass and have them start over.
  2. You should get Michael Ungar. Get the walk on perspective, still in the sports industry, and has overcome a family tragedy.
  3. Congress at Midnight: “here’s the final revisions, but we need a response by 10am.” SEC/Big10 :“yeah, your urgency isn’t my emergency. We’ll sleep on it and talk about it later. “
  4. can anyone confirm if the 'protecting historic in-state rivals' provision is still in it, and if so, how do they determine historic in-state rivals? I do not see Tech being a historic rival of Texas, and if it's on games against other in-state schools, Tech is still 6th, behind Rice and TCU and SMU. I assume Campbell will have the bill written so the look back in calculating rivals will favor Tech. Number of time Texas has played an in-state school: Texas a&m - 118 Baylor - 112 Rice - 96 TCU - 93 SMU - 73 Texas Tech - 72 Houston - 25 North Texas - 10
  5. When these reports come from the other school it says something.
  6. All the national reporting points to a flip, Wilfong, that Sam guy. No one is saying he is staying. The best we get is “he hasn’t told anyone” - writing in on the wall. I’ll happily eat my words, but momentum is clearly with LSU.
  7. Throw some of Royal’s money at Sales…0-2 is going to sting.
  8. If Royal flips, does Texas go after a top guy recruited somewhere else while trying to get Royal back in the fold? Or is it Sales and/or Royal or bust?
  9. It’s only a proposal at this time - it’ll be negotiated and you may see another lockout. The players are likely to be against it. It delays your start, meaning your first contract is later so you’re much older when you try to get your second contract.
  10. Will this affect portal recruiting? You have to recruit like he won’t play for a few weeks/months, correct?
  11. He may just hate college and wants to play pro ball.
  12. Unless Mendoza just doesn’t like it at Texas, he should come back - hasn’t been selected through 15 rounds - don’t think any team would go over $150k signing bonus. Get a degree and comparable money.
  13. Why would Texas pay that to a kid who is going to have Tommy John and not play this season?
  14. Finally, everyone can stop talking like they care about soccer. USA had an easy draw and folded the first time they play a team with a pulse. it’s college football time.
  15. Back up [Justus] Terry
  16. Hey, you know we have your hitting coach, right?
  17. From his post today - these are the only ones in “best class scenario” uncommitted I’d assume we have 4 of the 6, with the other leaning Ohio St (and Sales being the OR if Royal decommits) RB (1-2) Landen Williams-Callis, RB, Richmond (Texas) Randle OTF ranking: 4-star++ WR (3) (Either or) Monshun Sales, WR, Indianapolis (In.) Lawrence North OTF ranking: 5-star and 5-star OL (5-6) Ismael Camara, OT, Gilmer (Texas) High OTF ranking: 4-star++ DL (3-4) Jason Johnson, DL, Humble (Texas) Atascocita OTF ranking: 3-star++ EDGE (3) Marcus Fakatou, EDGE/DL, Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon OTF ranking: 4-star++ DB (4-5) Brandon Sherrard, CB, Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek OTF ranking: 4-star
  18. Gerry’s best class scenario post has 5 guys currently uncommitted and I believe 3 outstanding “HI”s, so it is most likely 3 of those 5, my guess is LWC.
