Zachery Nelson Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Did Texas lose any players they expected to be big time players next year , heard someone say the catcher is gone Quote
MikeH Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Galvan is gone but he's been replaced by one of the few catchers in the country who would represent an upgrade in Carson Tinney, a transfer from Notre Dame. Quote

There are a few draftees we're not expecting to play for the Longhorns in 2026. 2 Quote

A those two position players are big losses for us imo. The high school players and some that were already on our team not really any big losses but those transfers have set us back a bit and will have us looking for replacements if we want to make it to Omaha. That's accurate. I don't think teams would've drafted guys like Moroknek and Freeman if they thought there wasn't a good chance that they'd sign. I said it in another post, but teams can offer guys drafted in the 11th-20th rounds up to $125K without it counting against their bonus pool for the draft. Quote

Do you think we are now scrambling to find staters in the portal ? I mean losing those two guys would leave significant holes on this team and our ceiling is much lower if we dont Quote

I believe the staff had/has contingency plans based on the draft. It's not ideal, but I don't think they're panicking. Quote
