Yeah, I don't see Liam

Portal ... PG, wing shooter and two bigs is what Texas is going to be after

Yeah, Hunter just went in the tank. Wildly inconsistent season.

Yeah don’t see that happening either. It’s going to be interesting seeing how the staff puts this team together. Last year they got hit with two five stars leaving at the last minute. They needed Hunter and Mitchell. That’s not the case this year. This year I think they are more prepared. Do you see any possible international player?

Just watching the tournament I can’t say the way Houston recruits forwards or Tennessee is wrong. They get athletic bigs and teach them the hook shot. Then they are a threat to score.

My biggest concern is what has happened to player development this year? Hunter and Mitchell took a step back? Ok, Mitchell really didn't take a set back, just did not improve enough from year 1 to year 2.

He definitely improved from year 1 to year 2 but he's still a huge liability on the offensive end and despite his athleticism, gets lost a good amount on team defense.

Hunter needed to develop in two key areas to allow Abmas to maximize for the Texas offense.

One, Hunter needed to develop into the primary ball handler (with M.Carr leaving from last season).  Obviously, that didn’t happen as Hunter is a ball handling liability.  The result is Abmas had to burn lots of energy being the primary ball handler and this sub-optimized Abmas is an off ball shooter from distance.

Two, Hunter needed to develop as the guy who can run a P5 offense and get his teammates the ball where and when they needed it to score.  Again, that didn’t happen, and poor Abmas bore the burnt of having to initiate the offense.

I will give Tyrese props for his on-ball defensive improvement and improving his shot from distance when open.   He’s effectively got an off-guard game trapped in a PG body.

That said, I would prefer to move on from Hunter and get a true PG in here who can get Tre Johnson the ball where and when he needs it to optimize his scoring ability next season.  As well as a PG who can coordinate the other parts of an effective offense (getting Weaver the ball off cuts, getting Alexander the ball on the low block, etc).

I like Amos because he can stretch the floor ... not sure who he will truly be able to guard in an athletic conference

He looks athletic to me, but he has not played in the SEC.

I will be very surprised if Hunter or Mitchell is back.

I never expected either to return. Texas needs a point guard and small forward. So much is riding on RT next year. It eliminates the playing time question from any player in the portal.
