    Blake Munroe

According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, the Longhorns are expected to hire Kenny Baker as their next defensive line coach.  Baker, who is currently the assistant defensive line coach for the Miami Dolphins, was previously at Western Kentucky.

What are you counting as an SEC tie?

Sorry, that was a poor word choice. “SEC area connections” would be more proper. Very familiar with the SEC recruiting footprint, if you will.

He is young, energetic, comes across as knowledgeable and passionate on film about his craft. He has college and pro experience. Plus, he has a wealth of experience coaching Power 5 around him football to help him adjust. I like him and trust Sark.

It was only a matter of time before Sarkisian found the right fit. Those characteristics you listed are what I was hoping Texas would find in its DL hire.

Getting a second coach with Metro Atlanta ties is good. As Tashard Choice's profile increases, he could be up for a HC job, so you'll need to find another guy who is familiar with the area as you head to the SEC. Georgia has been moving more national over the last couple cycles so you can potentially find 1 or 2 gems that you couldn't before.  In Sark I trust!

Kind of surprised we go with him over Wright and Okam who both seem to have more experience and are alumni.

And are older and may have peaked.  The Wizard of Moncrief knows what he is doing.

All this and I think his strong ties to the state of Georgia will be useful on the recruiting trail.  If he ends up being an ace recruiter but a slightly worse developer than Bo Davis was, this will be another nice hire by Coach Sark.

From his interviews it seems like he’s a perfect fit for how Sark wants to run his program. His dad was a high school football coach so it’s in his blood, he cares about building relationships (person 1st, player 2nd), he’s worked his way up the ranks fairly quickly, he’s big on culture and having young men on the team who are the right fit, he concentrates on teaching fundamentals and ensuring consistency. Only time will tell but every word he speaks sounds like he’s meant to be in burnt orange (Sark 2.0). Congrats and can’t wait to see how he elevates our culture and player production on the field.

Jumping from WKU to the League has my attention.  I trust Sark to get it right.  Other than Coleman who he rectified quickly he’s hired well imo.

Sark has done enough to earn our trust on this. Not many people knew Chris Jackson before he got here.

All you can really do at this point. Nobody knows enough about him to have a strong opinion. He may be great, he may be terrible. I am sure this guy has some very knowledgeable people in his corner and gave some glowing recommendations. Sark interviewed him and liked what he heard. Recruiting is the biggest question mark . We are all going to find out in a couple years, if this was a good hire..

Loved the idea of Coach O coming but I don't mind this hire either. After watching the WKU interviews he kind of reminds me of Coach Choice with his vernacular. Seems like a well rounded and adaptable hire with ties to the south east and the ability to say, "I've coached in the league and you have what they are looking for," to recruits. Just my 2 cents, Hook Em!

If he was good enough to hired on to a staff led by Vic Fangio then I'm pretty sure the guy can coach and develop.

Good way to look at it!

    Fair.

Watch the interviews. Form your own opinions.

But time to give him a chance and see what he can do. He’s got a shot at the big time.

After watching the interviews, reminds me Valor of Coach Choice, personality wise, energetic, appears to enjoy what he does, now we just gotta let him do it, after its all said and done we basically gotta trust Coach Sark, he really hasn't missed on a hire yet.
