  • Texas Coaches on the Road

    Bobby Burton

Steve Sarkisian spent a fair amount of time in Dallas today.

The Horns’ head coach has already been to both Skyline and South Oak Cliff today.

One player that is clearly a priority for the Horns this recruiting cycle is Bo Barnes, the linebacker at Skyline.

It’s the third time Sarkisian or a Texas coach has met with Barnes in the last week (once at junior day and twice at Skyline).

If there's one coach on this staff that Sark cannot lose, it's Jeff Banks. Banks has been Sark's "consigliere" since coming with him from Alabama.

That's three visits from/by the Texas staff and Elijah Bo Barnes in the last week. Nansen stopped by last week to watch a workout, the junior day and now today.

Who was the last guy we got from Skyline? Peter Jinkens?

Last player I remember from Dallas Skyline was Mike Davis, the WR who had a decent college career with us.

I would put tashard choice on that list as well. Unbelievable recruiter and a hell of a developer

With Texas now going to the SEC, I wonder if sark would start exploring some of the middle Georgia /southwest Georgia area. Their are some real diamonds in the rough in this area (jake fromm in 2018 from Houston county high in Warner Robins for example) and I feel like they sometimes get overlooked bc of all the talent that comes from the Atlanta area.

I think you'll see Texas move more and more to the Deep South for recruiting and not just the metro areas. I think that's going to be part of being in the SEC. We've already seen a little bit of it in Mississippi and Alabama. No reason for Georgia not to be next.

32 year old freshmen are always good to have on the team.

Really want Barnes and RP at LB. Also Jonah but we need to get him as safety. I’m sure he may grow into LB but he wants to play safety. Maybe big Nickel like we use Jelani McDonald this year.
