  • Texas the No. 7 seed in the Midwest Region

    Gerry Hamilton

The Texas Longhorns are headed to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth year in a row.

Texas (20-12) was just announced on CBS as the No. 7 seed in the Midwest Region.

The Longhorns will face the winner of Virginia and Colorado State in the  No. 10 seed play in game.

The Round of 64 game will take place Thursday in Charlotte, N.C.

The winner of the Midwest Region No. 7 vs No. 10 Round of 64 game will face the winner of No. 2 seed Tennessee and No. 15 seed St. Peter’s Saturday.

The Longhorns advanced to the Elite 8 last year.

I'm not LOLing, but I hope you're right. We're really inconsistent. You throw up numbers. We'll probably get our ass kicked the next game. Terry has no offense. We make threes every once on a while. Won't get us anywhere. We don't run an offense. We throw around and suck. If we did this in football everyone would be hunting for scalps. Chirp that.

Your flat out wrong on Texas not running offense.

The reality is Texas doesn't run offense you like! You don't like it, and that's fine. Just call the spade a spade.

Texas attacks the ball screen game exactly how they should with Abmas and Disu. They run everything off the elbows - literally 90-95% of the same action as last season! I literally posted game from youtube to watch and see.

And by the way, that has nothing to do with liking RT or not. RT's second season will tell the story of his future in Austin.

I want to make it clear that Gerry knows much more than me. That said, I'd bet my bottom dollar

Gerry, you know much more than me. I'm not denying that. That said, I don't think we're going anywhere in the tournament. Doesn't matter. I'll ride you with you and OTF any day. Thanks for working hard for us.

I don't know if Texas is going to win Thursday or not. I can't predict how Tyrese Hunter is going to play a basketball game.

If Hunter plays like he did against Iowa State, Marquette and Kansas State, which was 0-21 combined from the field, Texas won't beat anyone.

Texas has to have Hunter play well in the tournament IMO. Disu and Abmas will give Texas a chance, but Hunter has to show up.

Jesus. I don't think I'm wrong the Longhorns being in trouble, but I just told you I think you know more.

Abmas can get hot and keep us in games but that is for sure not a lock.  He’s been a 30% 3pt shooter since Feb 1st.

For sure. The key is which teams can push Abmas out to 28-30 feet in the ball screen game. If a team does that, Hunter has to come through.

If opponents can keep Abmas' looks at 24-25 foot average, he won't go crazy and have a knock you out type game IMO.

"Literally dont run an offense" applies more to Shaka Smart I think.

Post a link to Abilene Christian for that one

KenPom teams that are top 25 in both adjusted offense and defense are the safest bets to go deep and eventually win the NC ... UConn is my favorite.

Texas is No. 19 in college basketball in adjusted O, but 61st in adjusted D

@Gerry Hamilton Peja Jr. entered the portal today. We finished 2nd, any chance he gives us a serious look. He had a typical freshmen year, but you have to love those bloodlines and the size he brings to the wing position.
