  1. That would be outstanding for him!
  2. I've mentioned Hurtt as well as John Scott with the Lions or even the Lions assistant DL coach who has some Texas ties. The thing about NFL DL coaches, if their head coaches have been fired, is that they can keep them under contract until a new coach is hired. They also have buyouts, etc. I do not know who Sark is targeting at this point. I feel confident it has been an NFL guy for a couple of weeks. Beyond that, I don't know.
  3. Yep. Alan Lowry!
  4. I don't know that Rod Wright was ever "the" guy. It's been thought he might be but I never wrote he was definitively it. Given that nothing has happened as yet, I kind of doubt it was him as the no. 1 choice. Wright had his annual post-season meeting with Demeco Ryans yesterday, so he'd be ready to go if it was him.
  5. He was a great rep of the high school, Texarkana and high school football coaches in the state generally IMO.
  6. I think J. Muhammad is seen as somewhat of a luxury IMO. I don't think Texas is going to overreach whereas Oregon might.
  7. Mason Graham and he is a bona fide 1st rounder.
  8. Not like at Bama. But I think it's possible there is some, especially on D.
  9. Dad played at Auburn but allowed his son to commit to Alabama initially. Something to be aware of but I don't think he's the typical Auburn-Alabama type.
  10. Yes, the NFL.
  11. Hahaha. Let me think of some guys. 😉
  12. It would only make them ineligible to transfer to Texas this month (by Jan. 30). But it allows the players to go into the portal immediately with their current school already on the hook for this semester's scholarship.
  13. As always, special thanks to our sponsors who help us produce the content here. Texas Allstate Agent Mark Saunders is a Texas alum, a good friend of ours and has been providing insurance solutions for Texans for 35+ years. Give him a call at 512.218.8571 for any insurance questions, needs, etc.
  14. We tackle the defensive tackle portal discussion, the latest on Ryan Williams, junior day, new offers and what Sark is up to the next week or so. https://youtu.be/LSn_vFj3I7U

  16. I haven't heard anything on that. Kid's a complete baller though.
  17. I agree. However, if the DC also leaves, which is what is predicted, then I think that side of the ball might take a slight hit.
  18. Oregon has been just as aggressive in the portal as Texas, if not slightly more so. Think Dillon Gabriel and Evan Stewart among others.
  19. Sark has every intention of creating a foothold in SoCal. Brandon Baker and Aaron Butler, both in 2024 class.
  20. Not a bad option at all. But he's a Bama grad and has decided to stay.
  21. Sources tell On Texas Football that Jabbar Muhammad is likely favoring Oregon at this moment. Muhammad, a Washington transfer and second-team All-Pac 12 selection in 2023, visited Texas last week. He then visited Alabama over the weekend. But Oregon is expected to host him this week and the Ducks have gone from a major player in this recruitment to his potential leader. Muhammad is expected to make a decision by no later than Jan. 30. The Longhorns have already inked eight players in the NCAA transfer portal, the latest coming earlier today from Tiaoalii Savea, a 6-foot-4, 305-pound defensive tackle from Arizona.

  23. I think he will rotate as much or more on the DL. The secondary? I bet he rotates less, or at least I hope he does to a degree.
  24. I just think he's being purposely deliberate. He doesn't need to leave Michigan, so he can make sure he's going into a perfect situation, or at least as perfect as can be,
