  1. Didn’t the issue happen in the Dallas area? That makes it more difficult from a PR perspective to take a chance on him. He needs to go somewhere like KC or Buffalo.
  2. Under Sark 5 stars are developing and getting on the field in the 1st 2 years which is why I don’t see a need for a portal db when you have talent ready to get in the rotation.
  3. I get it but safety is a position where it shouldn’t take top talent 3 years to get in the rotation. I want to see the young bucks get in the rotation this year so they are ready for a bigger/starting role next year. I’m expecting Jonah along with 1 of the year 2 guys to be in the rotation and play well next year. Why recruit 5 star talent if you are going to bring in experienced players that block them from the rotation so they hit the portal. Not to mention that’s a lot of NIL money sitting on the bench.
  4. There’s too much experience and talent in the safety room to take one in the portal. It’s really down to just DL, edge, and kr/pr unless there’s more attrition. I only say edge because they brought in the kid from Stanford and jones (I think) from FSU. So they seem to be looking for a difference maker at that spot.
  5. Alabama also has 5 star freshmen Keelon Russell who is competing for the starting job. I don’t see Nico going there. I would hope his agent already had a deal in place for him that’s better than his current deal. If he didn’t he should get fired asap.
  6. Tre had 1k yards in the SEC in his 1st year getting significant reps. Good luck finding a better back out of the spring portal window where intra SEC xfers have to sit a year. Also you have a new rb coach so what signal do you think it sends to the room if he goes after RBs in the portal. Choice didn’t think there was a need. I’m only saying this because that’s what other schools will use along with NIL to get guys to jump in the portal. An injury doesn’t mean a player won’t risk the portal. It’s not really that big of a risk if the NIL deal is in place before the player goes in.
  7. I just don’t see it as a high priority given what’s still in the room. Bringing in a proven rb also increases the likelihood 1-2 jump in the portal. I’d rather the staff focus on other positions where there’s less returning production.
  8. It would be a good sport for him but as a Cowboys fan this would suck. Hoping he lands with the Cowboys or Ravens.
  9. Lack of an athletic period at public schools. Some private schools have one. I’ve seen a few examples of what happens after 2-3 months in a college strength and conditioning program. 10-12lbs of good weight on some DBs. It wasn’t just the weight. They were also more explosive in drills. So I get why Gerry is high on him. I still think Lockett will be the better player.
  10. Yeah looks like he enrolled in the summer. My mistake.
  11. Ryan Williams did it last year so it’s possible.
  12. If they want to keep him they better add talent around him.
  13. Good discussion. To me If Indiana losses to OSU they are out. I think it’s that simple given they won’t have a win over Oregon, OSU, or Penn St to make up for a weak non-conference schedule.
  14. I’m sure Deon is grateful his name is being mentioned as that usually results in a nice raise. That said, no way this happens. Deon and Jerry prob both know it wouldn’t work.
  15. Prob every coffee and football this week. He called OU’s QB situation as well.
