  1. You are right, and it’s fair to think that. I’m just a little different in that we saw an exceptionally high level from him for 2.5 games. Then he came back and regressed. Was that the injury or has he really not made the progress we thought? I’m just saying credit should be given where it’s deserved. He was pretty damn phenomenal yesterday, not perfect. Let’s celebrate that instead of comparing against 1/1 in the draft. IF (underline and in bold) we get that Quinn the rest of the way we’ll be alright.
  2. That’s fair but thought yesterday was more than meh. I don’t necessarily disagree with you but would have liked to see a healthy Quinn vs Georgia. Hopefully he has the chance to prove you wrong down the road, and does. It’s a fair critique.
  3. I love you guys, and hopefully you take this as a couple of guys sitting at a bar having a sports debate, but… you guys knew lagway wasn’t going to play. You knew they were banged up on defense. Yet you still said 24-13 and 34-17 (or some such). Then you get on this morning say “eh, they did what they were supposed to do.” “Too many back foot throws”. Etc. Without 2 on the money drops by Moore, Quinn’s stat line is 400+ yards and 7TD’s in just over a half. I saw one back foot throw that wasn’t a swing pass which you could argue was a perfect back shoulder throw to Golden. (You could also argue that was an inaccurate deep throw that Golden made good on) Texas could have scored 100 yesterday had they wanted to. so 2 things, I think Bobby specifically, you are dismissing the injury to Quinn having a material impact on the first couple games back., and Gerry, I’m not sure what else to say. what is the standard for Quinn when he puts up a stat line like that and we are still meh, it was fine… Not asking for sunshine pumping and you have your reasons but the slant on this 8-1 team who will be #3 is overly negative IMO. No team has played perfectly to this point. My 2 cents. Hook em
  4. Well Diego, if you were concerned about that you should not have gone to said junior college.
  5. If Texas does not fix its issues with rush/blitz pick up, more than just A&M will be a problem. Sack evasion can be more than escapability. Plenty of examples of immobile QB’s that had hall of fame careers.
  6. Does this have anything to do with Brew?
  7. If Johntay is sitting bc of that one drop, that’s pretty lame of sark. Lots of other folks making mistake that keep playing. Weird you would go from playing a lot to playing none. Has to be something else, right?
  8. That game should not have been as close as it was when they made the switch.
  9. Nice call fafo
  10. How now?
  11. Slightly higher comp % with 4 td is my guess.
  12. About where I am. Won’t be close.
  13. Focus of the OP was not on Quinn. Let’s just agree for a minute that what you say is true, we are playing Vanderbilt with a significant advantage at almost every position. Even if Quinn has a B- game available due to the injury hangover, we take care of business. He doesn’t need arm strength or the deep ball in this game.
  14. We didn’t lose to UTSA. We lost to a team possessing quite possibly the most talented roster in the country. It happens.
  15. That’s part of it. Quinn played great in game 1. Was the heisman front runner after Michigan. Starts 14-16 before getting hurt. 73% overall. Takes off a month. Shows some rust vs OU but plays fine. Then hits the buzz saw and now people are like “he sucks”. Just odd to me. thats why I said a week too soon in the title though. Give the guy a little latitude.
  16. Heavens guys. Just got done with C&F. Layering this morning in with the rest of the weeks content, you wouldn’t know we’ve spent most of the season as #1 and are 6-1. Way too much doom and gloom about this team IMO. Look, last week we ran in to a buzz saw. All of our experience, all of our speed…it’s still Vanderbilt guys. I’ll eat crow if I need to Saturday evening but I expect 2 things. Quinn is gonna deal and Texas is gonna roll. Book it.
  17. I can do you one better. I was at the 1984 cotton bowl when Georgia beat Texas. I’m now 0-2 when attending UT-UGA games. The one I didn’t attend we won
  18. A 5-7 season should help with that. If not for Maine, they will lose out more than likely.
  19. CJ, where do you land on Quinn’s performance? Don’t think anyone would say he played good but a lot of people saying he was awful.
  20. C&F said they graded banks the highest player on the team. My point is not to justify Quinn’s bad performance, bc it was. More so that he is singularly bearing the brunt of the criticism which I do not think is fair at all.
  21. Go watch the 4th quarter sack when 13 blows past banks causing the strip and tell me how that’s on Quinn you get no arguments from me on him playing poorly but I would strongly disagree that was as bad as Card.
  22. This morning on C&F, You said he gave up one sack, which wasn’t his fault, so his draft grade would not be impacted by that. Not sure on his draft grade but the man Banks was responsible for sacked Quinn 3 times. The one Quinn didn’t step up in to the pocket that you referenced. One where he did step up and kind of stepped in to Banks man. And a 3rd where Mykel Williams got the strip sack in the 4th quarter. I said it Monday, and maybe I’m wrong, but the focused energy on Quinn’s poor performance isn’t entirely fair. Banks, 3 sacks. Wisners drop. Robersons hold(s). On and on. Quinn did not play great, but crosshairs on him isn’t entirely fair. I will say you backed off it a bit this morning after Sarks presser so that’s good on you
  23. So when he said Texas is 2nd to Florida after the visit may need some updating?
  24. Correct on Roberson.
