  1. Fong article this morning reiterates Florida is a threat for him. “Staying closer to home is becoming a factor”
  2. I've never understood the reporting that she "is a Nike kid". Not saying it's wrong or I don't believe it or anything at all, just haven't heard that before. Does it mean that she just literally prefers the Nike brand better to Adidas? I can understand that, but I would be pretty surprised if a high level collegiate athlete was making decisions based on it. It reads more to me like she has some people connected to Nike in her circle that are pushing her that way. But again, totally just speculating. Weird recruiting quirk that I haven't heard before.
  3. The seats that I got through my season ticket away game request are in section W508 Row 12.
  4. The email that they sent out to ticket holders said the flyover will be at 10:45am.
  5. Really bizarre stretch by this team. Never feels like we’re getting any easy offense.
  6. I understand there are lots of nuances to these decisions, and I hope this doesn’t come off the wrong way, but if he is so good then why is it expected he makes it in? Just a kid that really wants to go to college?
  7. I have 2 Vanderbilt tickets in the Texas allotment available for sale.
  8. I like the Hyatt Regency. You get to be “on the water” but you’re just on the other side of the bridge so you avoid the craziness of downtown. Easier access to get Ubers and in and out of the parking lot.
  9. I saw on an email about the new UT Club that there is going to be a sort of "VIP" or elevated access area at LCL. Do you see anything that might be that? Or is that what the stage in the pictures is for, and the stage where the performer will be is still in the usual spot?
  10. Can’t help but feel a little underwhelmed with how the baseball stuff has shaken out so far. In hindsight, I should not have expected every major program to just let us have our way with them, but it was hard not to get caught up in the way the coaching change went down. It seems to me like A&M threw a strong (and unexpected) counter punch, and some of the portal recruiting was not as solid as we may have thought. Such is life in the portal though. I think, ultimately, we will obviously come out on the plus side because we have a top tier coach now, but I hope we can really land some studs if we’re going to be a contender in short order.
  11. Guys, it’s baseball season
  12. Did Hayden Lowe and/or Smith Orogbo make it in? Sorry if I missed it
  13. Guillory maybe. No one on Delane’s level though, unless Jonah Williams is being recruited at safety again.
  14. Hope we get them both because Tagoa'i just committed to USC! Lol
  15. So this visit this weekend is “news”, correct? Because I know you have been saying he’s had 3 visits scheduled for a while: the 2 in April and the OV. So this one this weekend will be a 4th that wasn’t previously scheduled until now. Sorry for the repetitive question, trying to keep up. Need a spreadsheet like @John Moore lol
  16. Would it be possible to get a list of everyone scheduled to visit at some point this week?
  17. I wonder if we have a chance to make a move with Tagoai. Arizona was one of his first offers, maybe it came from Nansen.
  18. Woodfork got a prediction to Texas Tech a couple weeks ago.
  19. Do you think the NIL landscape is competitive enough for players that might be looking to jump ship due to a coaching change, to just be bought out of their original deal and sign a new one in December? I’m thinking for example, that if there was a player we really wanted committed to Florida, Billy gets fired, our NIL guys would just reach back out and say hey, offer is still on the table. Again, hypotheticals, but what stops a kid from being locked into a $1M NIL deal in June, they sign their NLI, then from June-December other collectives from around the country are negotiating with deals worth $1.5M, $2M, etc. And in this scenario the head coach/coaching staff that they committed to in June doesn’t even have to get fired. I guess I’m just playing devil’s advocate. Maybe I’m scarred from the Ron Holland recruitment.
  20. I’m glad they’re changing it, because the way it is now is the worst so anything will be an improvement. But if I’m understanding correctly, it seems to me like a lot of those kids that sign in June will be requesting out of their NLI’s after the season. So much can change between June and the end of the football season, teams underperform, coaches get fired, etc. Programs can look completely different in January than they did in June when the player committed. I know some kids will want to get their recruitment over with before their senior football season, but I just feel like a higher percentage of those June signings won’t stick. The best use case for this might be Florida this upcoming season. I have to assume they will have a pretty decent summer recruiting wise, but I also assume with that schedule, Billy won’t make it through the year.
  21. Any word on where Johntay fits in the pecking order of that WR room? Probably too early to really know for sure, but thought it was worth asking with the note about Bond expecting to be WR1. I hope Johntay can be WR2 at least.
