  1. I mean he’s not going to be top priority target on the list obviously, but Texas does a good job with student athletes who had athlete parents (Manning, O’Neal, Skinner) so from that point of view I could see it. It would just depend what type of role he is looking for, because I don’t see RT promising a starting role but I could see a bench option with shooting if healthy. Doesn’t seem likely at all but don’t think it would be a bad pickup, since we’ll likely have lots of spots open.
  2. LOL Texas fans panicking already who is surprised
  3. I just enjoy seeing players continue family connections at Texas (Holle, Shipley, etc) But I understand how recruiting boards work, and have faith in our recruiting staff.
  4. Not looking forward to seeing Rink likely commit to OU or A&M, but there are lots of talented DL players on the board regardless. My loins are girded up and ready.
  5. OSU with another DB, at some point they won’t have room for Brew.
  6. “Oklahoma beats Texas” I don’t think I’ve ever heard any talk of him being a priority target. I guess OU also “beat Texas” for Tatum in that case
  7. Hard to blame him if he wants to stay local, that would probably be the best place to do it.
  8. It is funny, in a painful way LOL
  9. That’s…not what I said. I didn’t even mention Pierce in my post at all. God forbid I try to root for our team to have a good rest of the year.
  10. As much as we’ve struggled, our worst games have been out of conference. Which is good in some respects, as we’re still heavily in the Big 12 title race. Baseball is a lot about being hot at the end of the season, not necessarily the best team all year. See: Ole Miss winning the title after being the last team in. We will see
  11. Predetermined host site. Don’t love that there’s only 2 sites for the 4 regions but is what it is. Similarly, but to a lesser extent, #1 UNC MBB could potentially play Arizona in LA.
  12. 15 according to the announcers which is insane. There’s gonna be a couple a game in WBB, but hopefully we’ve gotten the disaster game out of our system before the competition increases.
  13. Gus Cordova - DL - USC Byron Washington - OL - Syracuse
  14. “Being a kid from the Dallas area…that’s all people talk about…mainly is Texas. So growing up I liked Texas.” ”I got to watch the longhorns and the sooners play. Growing up that’s all everybody talked about. So what I like about them is…how balanced their offense is. You saw Xavier Worthy and AD Mitchell, they moved around to different spots on the field. They never put them in the same spot in the same position and they all were in sync with each other’s play styles.” Texas is in a solid position but you can tell nothing is decided. I really think he would be a great addition to the class though. He also discussed schools such as A&M (His Grandmother was a professor there who taught many football players and he grew up visiting the facility as a kid) , LSU, FSU, USC (Family from LA area), and OSU. (Quotes obtained via the On3 Recruits Youtube Page.)
  15. Some of y’all who are the most outspoken on this are the same people who were really quiet when it came to Arterio Morris…
  16. Title is a Quote from 247’s Cooper Pategna on a livestream yesterday. He mentioned his location in SEC territory, potentially taking other visits, and interest from Auburn as potential reasons why. Conversation began with discussing Duncanville’s Keelon Russell and his communication with Texas who we have already heard was another name mentioned. What should the level of concern be in terms of Lacey going back on his commitment?
  17. Wow. She handled that about as well as someone could have.
  18. The lower batting order has really woken up, which started even during the 4 game losing streak. It’s really been needed too, as the bullpen struggles to find itself.
  19. WBB with the series sweep and Women’s track won the title IN Lubbock. At least they have men’s track i guess.
  20. In other 2027 California news, I thought I remembered DT Isaiah “Blake” Fiacco out of San Clemente (CA) San Juan Hills planning on coming in. But I’m assuming he didn’t end up visiting Austin yesterday considering I didn’t see anything about it.
  21. I think one thing that will force us to kickstart getting a better NIL push will be the very real possibility of losing 5 of 9 position players and 1-2 starting pitchers after the year. Although the 2024 signing class was fantastic, it’s not like football where we know they’re all going to sign. So it will be more important to bring in some proven commodities. But as for this season, I don’t think we looked as hopeless as we felt this past weekend. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t pretty AT ALL, but we’ve seen this story before and Pierce’s teams have typically gotten better throughout the year. Hoping for a steady climb the rest of the way.
