Now if John Mateer bounces back then all of what I said changes (although CJ hasn’t been talking about him this year like last year). Him and Paul Finnebaum (probably spelled his name wrong) have backed of their QB crushes too much imo.

You gotta make a new post and brag on your percentages of calling stuff right.

This is the kind of stuff you find out right before a championship season that begins a dynasty.

The last time he got an extension was before the 2024 period. I think they knew the transition to the SEC was going to be tough, I also think they (OU administration) know this season will be/could be difficult, and they like the culture and how BV is building the football program, so they don’t want any “hot seat” talk to question if BV has job security if the season does turn out to be disappointing for them.

Also they basically pushed Jeff Lebby out the door by begging Selmon (former Sooner great and current Mississippi State AD) to hire Lebby. Many thought Selmon would become OU’s next AD.

The hopium is high in Sooner Land. They believe they will have one of the best defenses in the country, a healthy Mateer is a Heisman candidate, 4 returning OL starters returning will make their run game better, Hatton is the best freshman RB they’ve had since Joe Mixon, the TE room is upgraded with Whitten and 3 transfer TEs, and they believe there WR room is better. They feel really good about this season.

Everyone is missing the obvious question. How is he going to get to classes?
