  1. I have a two part question that I was hoping that Gerry, Bobby or CJ could discuss. Either on Coffee & Football or in this tread if they are able. Anyone else for that matter who cares to provide their thoughts and insight would be welcomed. After listening to Gerry & CJ on the recruiting breakdown yesterday, it got me thinking about our quarterback of the future. Quinn will be gone after the 2024 season. We all assume that Arch will be the starter for 2025 & 2026 season. What about 2027? I say 2027 because neither of Arch’s uncles declared early for the draft. Both stayed to finish out their eligibility I believe. Unlike Quinn who skipped his senior year to start his NFL clock early, Arch seems to want to enjoy his college experience and playing college football. With that being the case, how far out is it that Arch may stay for four or even five years? Technically, he redshirted last year. So that would mean he is entering the 2024 season as a redshirt freshman. Now, if UT goes on a wins a national championship in either 2024 or 2025, he would not really have a reason to return. However, depending on the talent around him, do you think Arch may use all his eligibility? I know most guys would bolt for NFL money, but the Mannings are on a different timeline than most people. Which brings me to my second question. Who out of Bell or Lacy would be the next man up? Not discounting Trey Owens as he is currently on campus. But out of Lacy and Bell, who is more talented to run Sarks offense? Who is more likely to still be around in 2027? Dia Bell has only been committed for a short period of time, but he strikes me as someone who may be willing to be a bit more patient than Lacy. I only say this because Lacy was looking around after he committed to UT. I know he has firmed up his commitment recently, but if Arch was to stay until 2027, would Lacy be willing to wait that long to take over. I would say no, but just curious what everyone else thinks.
  2. Just don’t understand how a wide receiver can watch that video and not want to be on the same team with him. You will get far more NIL deals being Arch’s go to receiver than catching passes from some random QB. Can’t wait for when it’s his time to shine!
  3. Florida State Penn State Clemson
  4. Don’t believe it was all about the money either. Personal belief is that Moore just did not want to come and play at Texas. He obviously had his reasons why, but can’t discount the fact he initially committed to LSU. Not Texas. When he decommitted and would talk about his finalist, he glowed about Ohio States program and how hard they practiced. When he spoke about Oregon, he talked about his relationships with the coaches. He never once talked about our program in the same light as OSU nor his relationship with our coaches. The only thing he mentioned was that his mother would be extremely happy if he picked Texas. He also was very critical of our quarterbacks when he last came in for a practice. Sort of trying to find reasons to not get excited about the Texas program. I remember Gerry initially saying it was going to come down to Texas and OSU. Fact, in early June he was preparing to pledge to Ohio State. Now, he may have given Texas a silent on his official visit, but I believe that was more pressure from being around his family than anything. So that could be the reason he elected not to call the staff and inform them of his final decision. At the end of the day, Bobby and Gerry could both be right. It was not all about the money and Texas may have been out recruited. However, Dakorien had multiple opportunities to pledge to Texas but he never did. He pledged to two other schools (Oregon and LSU) knowing what type of season we just had and where our program is headed. Before his pledge to Oregon, he told some people that Ohio State would be the choice. I can’t say that Texas was out recruited. They made him a priority. Sark road with him to the restaurant, took pictures with his whole family and told other recruits that he was their top WR. Maybe Sark thought he was in a better position with him than he really was, but to me it comes down to the fact that Dakorien just did not want to play for Texas.
  5. Never felt that he was coming here, but was holding out hope he would surprise me. Well he did. He picked Oregon instead of OSU or LSU. what happen with us and Sanchez? One moment he liked us then the last year or so we completely fell off.
  6. Gerry or Bobby, So with Dakorien coming in from the 14-16 for his OV. How will the coaches handle the other scheduled WR visits at that time? According to Gerry’s list Kelshaun Johnson, Andrew Marsh and Daylan McCutcheon will also be in that weekend. I was hoping that Moore was coming in on the 21st so we would have his last visit, but since he will be coming on the 14th, the coaches hopefully roll out the red carpet for he and his family (golf cart, dinner and breakfast with Sark). Similar what they did for Colin Simmons and Arch Manning. Will the other recruits feel a certain way. I remember reading somewhere that a recruit had issues once because of the special treatment a high priority recruit received at the time of their visit.
  7. Since Matai Tagoa'i is committed to USC,is he still a possibility to visit in June? When will DK Moore release his visit schedule or will he just show up on campus one weekend.
  8. Where would Autry fit as far as talent goes? I know you feel that Brandon Brown is borderline 5 star. Zion is a must get based on measurements alone. Same for Sharma. How would you rank the linemen Texas is chasing.
  9. I know it’s early, but who do you think will emerge as our biggest competition for him?
