This may have been covered or mentioned before and I missed it, but I would like to thank Bobby and the whole OTF staff for their hard work. I love that they have YouTube updates and tidbits through the weekends. I know it’s a job to all of you and takes time from your family, I probably speak for a lot of Texas fans, we appreciate the dedication.

I think they are going to feel the loss of Stutsman and Downs more than they think. Haven’t done much to upgrade DB’s.

@CJ Vogeland I don’t think they did much to address those needs in the portal. Their recruiting has been good not great.

Good review I agree. LB’s a bit of a question as well a DB’s. I told my buddies the same thing don’t sleep on JA when Auburn comes to town.

My thoughts as well. Just don’t see it. I think they may be underestimating a bit Mateer’s success coming to the SEC. I may be wrong but don’t see him running for 800 yards. He will have some dudes come off the edges he hasn’t seen before.

So I have a couple of buddies that are hardcore Dirtburglars. They were telling me today with a good year Mateer will be a Heisman candidate. I’m not much of a crap talker so I’m just taking this all in, when the other guy pops out, will have the at least the second best defensive line in the SEC. So I’m still just kinda trying to process this conversation when he says, I think 10-2. I just don’t see it maybe so, I was just like pretty lofty considering the dumpster fire last year.

That was my thought. Playing time early is big for him. Not sure why they think he is leaving. JA will most definitely be gone I believe.

Maybe I missed it on here somewhere but I’m hearing on some OU news sights that Fasusi has reached out to Texas to re open communication. Is this just rumor mill or does this story actually have legs? Wondering if Gerry, CJ, or Bobby have heard this

It’s crazy if you look at the A&M forums. Dang near every thread they have going their conversation is Texas. They talk about us more than their own team’s goings on.

… and we’re consistent.

Overall, wide receiver is not a major concern to me in recruiting, it’s missing on high value targets. DK was in our own backyard and a heavy Texas lean for over a year. Swooped up in the last couple weeks along with Sharma in the 11th hour. Bobby said this morning on Coffee and Football one recruit doesn’t define a class. It’s almost like ignoring there is an issue of some sort at the moment. We all understand that one recruit doesn’t define a team, but this has been more than one in the last couple weeks. If it’s not money what is it? Message not resonating with recruits, just using Texas to drive up price. I believe it has to do with money more than anything. Staff refusing to go over that certain threshold. Just because a kid wants to get paid in this era doesn’t mean he is not a culture fit. I realize some will fall into that category but, you can’t use that excuse every time you get money whipped and just say, he wanted NIL not a culture fit. Regardless whether Texas likes where the market is you are going to have to pay for some needs. On the flip side if it’s not a money issue as some have suggested it’s not, then where do you look? I don’t think any of us know the reason for the latest recruiting hiccup, but time will tell I suppose .

As much as I would like to agree with you I don’t see a top 5 recruiting class.

Where is all that NIL money going. I guess using as funds to collect interest somewhere. Not much being used this cycle for sure.
