  1. Bobby in your first broadcast this morning you mentioned showing up to spring practice how impressed you were. What’s your initial thought of this team/spring practice compared to last year initial thoughts?
  2. I understand, there will not be those double teams this year with what we currently have I don’t think. Allowing a bit more extra protection for QB. Moore hopefully makes the bigger difference.
  3. I agree they were two of the best, but as far as QB sacks from the them were not all that high. If you had one or two DL guys that were true threat to sack the QB, that’s where it would get the ends maybe a bit more of a free rush at QB.
  4. My thought is if they can get a really good DL in this spring portal session to compliment what we have it would take pressure off the ends to get pressure. Especially if Burke and Sorrell make another leap from last year along with the addition of Moore. Maybe/ maybe not contribution from Simmons this year. To be determined.
  5. I’m not sure about Lacey, he seem to be more enthusiastic about his continued recruiting tour than the commitment he made to Texas. I think he may disappear as soon as someone else pays more attention to him. Maybe/hopefully I’m wrong.
  6. Stacked QB and RB room…. No doubt.
  7. Hello Gerry, glad your back.
  8. I think Rod, CJ, and Bobby spoke about it one day on OTF I think when talking about Kenny Baker. Networking is one of the most important qualities in a successful coach. Not just in your coaching contact but your high school coaches, players, schools themselves, and the parents. We are all biased about our own kids and for a parent to know that coaches at a particular school are invested in them for much more than sports. They want them to get an education, taught values, team work, and being a productive person. I played football and baseball in high school. I played baseball in college and other than my father, a few of these coaches made a huge impact in my life. I still think about them till this day and I am 56. It takes a whole lot of work, but these coaches/recruiters invest a lot in the family not just the player.
  9. Bobby, CJ, and Blake, the board is turning into a great success and awesome place to be with all these great Longhorn fans. Welcome all….. Hook’em
  10. Very true, they run a risk if they stay with some sort of sanctions. Nothing is guaranteed at the moment at UM. Then throw in I believe their DC and S and C coach leaving it will be different.
  11. If we scooped up one good quality DL I would be ok with that. I’m just not sure it’s going to be from UM though, more like spring semester. But then again trying to predict this stuff is non existent.
  12. Congratulations and welcome aboard. I have faith the right hire was made. I am sure he realized the pressure and expectations being hired by the Longhorns. He will be up to the task. Hook’em
  13. We will see how the results turn out, but like seeing him get after it quick and in a hurry. I think his age, appeared enthusiasm, and hard work ethic will pay dividends.
  14. If we could pick him up that would be nice. Relieve some question about the DL. I have faith in what they have working, but to sure it up would not hurt my feelings.
  15. Sure they do… Haters gonna hate.
  16. I think it’s going to be fine. Just a shock that TEXAS didn’t hire the big splash. We are all surprised at the hire but we are not spending our days trying to poke holes in it. He said he is in support of it and then spends three days trying to poke holes in it. I get it it may or may not work. We are sitting in living rooms, bars, restaurants, but we don’t have an inkling of who or who not this guy is.
  17. My thoughts exactly. Bo was a great coach, but not much of a recruiter. Let’s give Coach Baker a shot.
  18. I agree I hope the switch flips for Sydir as well. I also hope it flips with Broughton and Collins. Collins is on a different level than Sydir and Broughton, but I hope he hits another gear.
  19. The way I see it Sark got the heads up or knows much more about this man than we do. We should trust in Sark he hasn’t let us down so far. Do they all work out absolutely not. With that said I don’t see the need for a melt down. We made it to the CFP for the first time and the Big 12 championship since 2009. So we should trust the system instead of fret over it just because we did not make a splash with a big name.
  20. I would like to comment on the State of the Program as a whole not just the podcast. These are exciting times. It has been a good while that we have had such a good time talking about Longhorn football. Sure there were players here and there that were exciting and hopes elevated at times just to take a tumble. Sark has been a good fortune for this program. It lacked discipline, with a sense of entitlement not to mention the culture was something that had been forgotten. I think the State of this Program is in a great place and is on the right track to greatness. It is a fun program to talk about and be a part of which makes this forum that much more fun to hang out in and converse with all of you. Hook’em
  21. I could see it if playing the interior line, but at end he needs to maintain his quickness, flexibility, and speed. With to much bulk you start sacrificing those qualities.
  22. Thank you Gus. I wasn’t familiar with a couple of those either.
  23. Very interesting. Could Wright be getting promoted, maybe why he stayed. Who knows.
  24. It’s 0316 hrs. And OU still sux!
