    I just realized Coach Shipley coached that 2003 Burnet team. They played Wharton in a playoff game at Memorial stadium in Victoria, TX and they absolutely beat the living hell out of them 70-37. Cuero had narrowly lost to Wharton earlier in the season and I thought Wharton was big, fast, physical… until I saw Burnet beat them down! One of the most surprising butt whoopings I had ever seen. Such a disciplined football team.

    I miss the days of Cuero, Goliad, Gonzales, Luling, Hallettsville, & Yoakum being in the same 3A district. They have my Gobblers playing all over the place. Makes no senses.

    That Ship has sailed I would say. The kid and his family love them some Michigan style dysfunction it appears… I do find it interesting that a Hawaiian kid is dead set on going to an entirely different climate and freezing his butt off.

    Wow… I’m in disbelief. Love that guy. I’m not sure how much the kid was asking for, but based on his ability to slay Oklahoma and Texas A&M alone, I would’ve brought him back. Unless he was demanding to be RB 1 or RB 1 $$$? He clearly showed this year that his body cannot take the physicality and beating of being RB 1 though ☹️
