About Me
Became an avid Longhorn in 1963 while living in Tampa, FL where I was born. Moved to Austin, Texas the next year, 1964. Attended UT Austin beginning in the fall of 1970 as a sophomore. Played baseball my freshman year, 1969-70 at Tyler Jr. College. Walked on to the Texas baseball team in the fall of 1970 and made the team though never played an inning due to leaving the team during spring ball in Feb. 1971. Didn't finish my degree at that time. but returned years later to do just that, receiving my BA in Am. History in May 1990. Got my MA in Am. History from then Southwest Texas State in December 1994. Did my doctoral studies at Texas A&M, College Station, finished AbD. Was invited to teach at our local college in Krosno, Poland where I remain til today. Hook 'em in Polish is "Zaczep Je."
A side note: I coached baseball at St. Edwards in Austin from Fall 1987 until June 1994. Served as head coach May 1992 until I left for A&M. Erin Hogan was my team announcer my first year as head coach. Great young man then, and seems to be an fine man today. Enjoy his hosting of the Tuesday evening OTF.
