  1. I had the privilege and pleasure to sit in front of Jack and his wife Nancy for many years at DKR. I never had the heart to tell him that my favorite player was Saxton. I loved talking football with Jack. He was a real gentleman. 🤘🏻
  2. It was either 1970 or 71, I was serving as a host at a function in Athens, Tx and was sitting next to a young man named Buddy Iles. It took me a while to realize who I was sitting next to. We got a pretty good laugh when I told him my real feelings about him. He caught the 50 yard TB to beat the Longhorns in that 61 game. 🤘🏻
  3. Saxton was my first Longhorn hero. My first Longhorn jersey was #10.
  4. Glad you brought that up. Duke did play both ways quite a lot. That interception was a fantastic play against an All American Quarterback and receiver. Hook’em 🤘🏻🤘🏻
  5. One from way back I’d Joe Dixon. Played both ways 62-64.
  6. Ferdynard "Fred" Z. Bednarski, Jr. (12 December 1936 – 23 March 2024) was an American football player who, as a placekicker for the Texas Longhorns, kicked the first "soccer-style" field goal in American football history.[1] He is often credited with introducing the "soccer-style" kick to American football, which revolutionized the element of place-kicking in the sport.[2]
  7. Just watched a special on PBA about Fred Bednarski who was the first ever to kick soccer style field goal in a college football game. The kick was in Fayetteville against the hogs. He was a refugee from Poland and his family came to Texas after the war. He walked on to the Longhorns in 1956 . You should look up the program and watch . It was very inspirational. He was #35 and played for Coach Royal. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
  8. My wife and I had the privilege to sit one row in front of Jack and his wife Nancy for many years at DKR. I looked forward to each home game where I could talk football with Jack. I started going to Longhorn games when Jack was playing. As that picture of him shows, he was the first cover of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. What a gentlemen. I also loved watching Aaron Humphrey play.
  9. You didn’t see my next reply. I watch all OTF podcasts and read most topics. I love the fact that Bobby has all of the other coaches on the podcast. I’ve followed every Longhorn sports for more years than I can remember at my age. I concern myself with the coaches that Texas hires and the athletes that compete there.
  10. I have followed Longhorn sports for probably longer than you’ve been alive. I follow everything concerning Longhorn sports, probably too much as my wife would say. I like all of the different sports that OTF posts about plus their podcast. I just don’t need information concerning the aggies, ou, or any other school not named Texas. 🤘🏻
  11. Why do you care who the aggies hire as their track coach ? I could care less about any news concerning aTm. This is On Texas Football!🏈🤘🏻
