  1. So what? They have and will beat the hell out of her. Of course, she has to defend herself because the league won’t.
  2. They are in Austin
  3. You want to watch petty, small women beat up one girl from Iowa or poor officiating or both? Because these are the reasons it is physical.
  4. Texas will earn its first preseason AP No. 1 ranking in program history Sometimes I’ll come across a stat on Sports Reference that’s so stunning that I have to check 6 different places to verify it. While working on a story about why Texas should not want to be the preseason No. 1 team in the AP Poll — that stems entirely from the fact that the preseason No. 1 failed to win a national title 19 out of the last 20 seasons — I stumbled on something that blew my mind. Texas has never been a preseason No. 1 team in the AP Poll. It’s been close. It was the preseason No. 2 in 2009, 2005, 1970, 1965 and 1962, but since the preseason AP Poll became a thing in 1950, it never held that No. 1 spot entering the season. This year, that finally changes. It was picked to win the SEC, which has been the preamble for the preseason AP No. 1 team each of the last 4 years. Yeah, maybe that’s a bit because of the Arch Manning hype, but a team riding consecutive Playoff semifinal trips that returns a wealth of talent on defense would be worthy of that honor. Well, I suppose recent history suggests it’s a bit more of a dubious honor. First time maybe
  5. I watch hockey, football, and wrestling if I want to watch contact, not small-minded women.
  6. Library? What’s that?
  7. Craig James? I have followed Texas since 68, and I wouldn’t put him in the top ten, not even in the same room with Bosworth.
  8. Y’all don’t get it. The Aggies were sending a subliminal message to Sark: Come and coach us because we want a real SEC coach.
  9. I thought Bobby and Gerry said that this is a new age in recruiting, which means that the old dynamics don’t work anymore so your post is using old data that signifies nothing at the present time. And sad to say. all your legwork and all Gerry’s trips are a waste of time when it comes to talking to players. You need to find their agents and talk to them. A kid eliminating schools except for four or five simply means one of you four schools need to show me the money Also those early commitments are kids who are not going to make a lot of money. Every school has to get them so they can buy about 5 to ten guys. Not your fault or any mods but it is what it is because in the article Bobby promoted the schools don’t even know the rules.
  10. Sounds childish doesn’t it. They are picking on us. If they want to use their money like this, they can.
  11. However, not all of us are small SOB’s, jealous, petty, scared someone else might look good. Some of us understand human nature and push back against it. Some of us have learned there is enough love to go around. Some of us have learned to applaud and appreciate the other person. Some of us have learned that others are just better than us at some things but it doesn’t keep us from working harder while cheering for the other guy. I was fourteen when I accepted I would never bat clean up but I was a pretty good leadoff guy. Many of us know when to keep our mouth shut and not attack other people. Mack has revealed himself over the years, and we see him clearly.
  12. I was there, and we were just average, just today. Awful day one. pee wee day two. Hard to believe the team I saw this weekend is in first place in the SEC
  13. The loss to Tech doesn’t come close because there were more games to play. Plus, the defense of 81 was elite, perhaps the best Texas D ever. Then, if Texas had won the championship, the SWC would have been chasing Texas throughput the decade.
  14. Many of us are like the kid in the backseat and whose family car just pulled out of the drive way on a trip from Brownsville to Perryton (830 mile trip) and asks the question: “Are we there yet?”
  15. Let’s don’t be naive. Flood struck out on Roger’s, Fausi and Hayward. He wasn’t going to get all three but he should have picked off one but two of the three went to our rivals. Not saying we have lost our on Turntine but he not showing up at Austin the biggest day of his recruiting cycle up too now is surprising, Why? It shows he is not locked into Texas yet. It was about him, not helping Texas recruit future teammates. Now, he has every right to go where he wanted last weekend, However, we should know better to say a coach will get his players. We watched Mack spend his last years, not getting the best players.
  16. It was great to beat the Aggies like we did but being down 22 does not give me a lot of confidence because you usually lose such as the Florida game showed.
  17. There is no guarantee. Cam Ward and Milroe didn’t even make a 12 team playoff. Milroe couldn’t beat OU. Sam as good as he was didn’t win anything of significance. Colt could run and his injury might have cost us a national championship.
  18. I started in 68, and it was Chris Gilbert.
  19. Thanks for proving my point. Sam beat a weaken Georgia team at a neutral site. Quinn beat the defending national champs at their place. He beat Bama in Tuscaloosa. Bama was basically invincible at home. He beat OU twice.
  20. LOL, Sam lost to Maryland, lost to OU 4 times. Never won a championship. Better personal? Quinn led his team to far more important wins than Sam ever did. Sam was 1-3 against TCU.
  21. Sam would have backed up Quinn. He probably would have played fullback or H-back. At Tuscaloosa last year, Sam or Quinn? At Ann Arbor, Sam or Quinn? Big 12 championship, Sam or Quinn? Quinn won. Sam lost. Playoffs, Sam or Quinn? Quinn played in two. Sam zero. Sam lost to OU four times. Sam would never had has at the one yard line. However, I appreciate Sam and his time here on the forty, but give me Quinn.
  22. If you feel that way, just go away until next year. There is no reason to expect QE be perfect every down, every series. Who is? Greatness came out at the end of the game and you couldn’t recognize it. Sad. It really is sad that you missed it and can’t enjoy it. QE is as good as QB as there is left in the playoffs. The problem is our running game is probably the worse.
  23. I don’t get people like you. When we can’t run the ball, we are very one dimensional. We averaged 1.8 yards per carry. I am not sure a coach can just start calling new run plays. Quinn was great today. He drove the team down for two FG attempts in the fourth quarter. He checked into the TD on 4-13. He threw a beautiful pass to Helms, then to Golden again. Let me give you a Texas history lesson. In 1969 at Fayetteville, Texas turned the ball over 6 times, they were losing 0-14 at the start of the fourth quarter. Texas was beat until James Street made two plays. Just two. If he didn’t make those plays, he would have been just another good Texas QB. Quinn made the plays when he had to. That 4-13 TD pass ranks up there with Young’s run, Streets 2 plays, and James Brown 4th pass against Nebraska. I would include the TDs Earl made against Arkansas and OU in 77. You should be applauding Quinn tonight and file it away in Texas lore.
