  1. I'm all for it if he does not require a big NIL expenditure. With Brevard and Shaw out of eligibility, we are light on over the ball players even if we get Geffrard and keep Sharma. Furthermore, we lost potential over the ball players in the 2026 class with the decommitments of Cleveland and C. Wells (although both had flexibility along the DL).
  2. Tanook Hines looked great despite the USC loss. He’s really fast and pretty physical as well. Wish he was a Horn.
  3. You would think so, but unfortunately the vast majority of the politicians will go along with it due to political pressure from voters. Most politicians (especially in the last 20 years) are the most financially irresponsible people around. They don't make pragmatic, financially sound decisions anymore because those decisions are unpopular.
  4. Agreed. The financial mismanagement in the pros is bad enough, but the collegiate game is starting to look like a financial train wreck for most P4 schools. The collision will happen just about the time that TV contracts expire and the ACC's exit fee reaches its $75MM minimum (around 2030). IMO, at that point there could be a division of the haves and have nots. The haves will be most of the SEC, 5-7 from the Big 10, 3-4 schools from the ACC, and Tech from the Big 12. Does the SEC stay intact while the other haves form a football only conference, or is a 20-24 team football conference formed including the financially capable SEC teams? The rest of the schools will likely be waiving the white flag (to various extents) on NIL/rev share at that point. The Arkansas and Iowa St ADs have admitted as much. I'm sure the message from Iowa State's AD played a big part in Matt Campbell finally jumping ship, although Penn State is a great opportunity for him.
  5. With that being said, I still wish we had Lee Hunter. He's really good.
  6. I agree among the starters, but they don't have the DL depth (especially with one of their top IDL's being out for the year) that top teams in the SEC and Big 10 have. I think their lack of depth will be exposed in the playoffs, and their offense is not very good.
  7. Ejiawoko never OV'd. I thought Gerry was talking about Calvin Thomas out of Cy Ranch (current UNC commit), but who knows. Thomas fits the mold of the long, rangy LBs that the defensive staff prefers, like Braylon Hodge.
  8. My mistake - you were talking about Gibson playing 5 games, not Stone. That is unusual. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/jerrick-gibson-1.html
  9. Good luck to both of them. If he can improve his ball security, I bet Gibson will be a good back in a different scheme. Participation chart at the back of the Kentucky game notes as well as Sports Reference both only list Stone as participating in 4 games (Ohio St., SJSU, Florida and OU according to the participation chart). Good for him that he was able to play vs OU in the Cotton Bowl during his senior year. https://texaslonghorns.com/documents/2025/10/13/Week_8_-_Kentucky.pdf https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/will-stone-1.html
  10. Texas 23-6
  11. Yep. He redshirted in 2022, which is also in his bio on the Texas website, so the senior designation does not match the bio. He's a senior in school, but he's a redshirt junior in terms of eligibility. Nevertheless, if he maintains this level of play in conference, he's likely gone. https://texaslonghorns.com/sports/football/roster/hero-kanu/14467 https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/hero-kanu-1.html
  12. Sark’s smart ass answer about red zone offense earlier this week is really annoying now. He has a mostly healthy CJ Baxter now and he is still not using him enough in those situations.
  13. Exactly. This is Tom Herman play calling in the first half. Very disappointing.
  14. I really like the Kohen Brown commitment. His production along with 10.69 100m speed is difficult to find. Industry recruiting rankings will likely catch up to his production, visits, and track times. Gerry, do you think Chris Stewart flips to Tennessee (or another school with his brother), or do you think it depends on how things play out with others (Lott, Finley, potential flips like Mack or Miles (maybe), or senior evals)?
