  1. I saw him 3 different times when he played in AA for Amarillo after he crushed it in A and A+. He was not in the same shape he was in at Texas, but that happens to most bigger ball players as they get older. At AA, the quality of pitching - especially breaking balls and change ups- reaches a different level. He had a lot of bad Ks when I saw him play. A lot of hitters that can crush a good fastball flame out in the upper minors for the same reason. I hope he gets another shot. He was a phenomenal player for us.
  2. Interesting. Good size (215 lbs per 247) and solid speed combo. He's run 11.2 in the 100 and 22.7 in the 200 this spring, so not ideal for a WR, but could make for a solid safety or LB prospect.
  3. Between Hiller and Miller, Florida is making some significant NIL/rev share commitments to OL.
  4. My guess is that OSU was also willing to pay more than we were for Klare.
  5. Yes they will. Manny was CB15 (!) in this draft. He should have been no lower than CB7 or CB8 (if you roll the dice on McCoy, who is a stud recovering from an ACL tear). When you look at all the guys picked above him that should not have been (Igbinosun, Davis, Everette, Neal, Husky, and Moore), they are all taller and bigger than he is. He got dinged for being 6', 182 lbs. Keionte Scott went right before Manny for the same reasons (5'11" slot corner).
  6. Trey Moore to the Dolphins! He really improved his draft stock during the process. Good pass rushers get drafted - even ones played out of position their last year.
  7. Manny to the Bears! Great pick.
  8. Don’t understand the Devin Moore pick for the Cowboys when Manny was still on the board. Manny is a much better CB.
  9. Is the House settlement and its clearinghouse even relevant at this point? Several schools never agreed to the settlement and likely never will. That’s why we are heading to more and more of a world of the have and have nots. Change is coming in 2030-31 when the TV contracts expire, because the current model is unsustainable to most of the power conference schools (mostly outside the SEC).
  10. Not sure I would take that job if I were him. The Warriors are likely heading into a total rebuild with an owner and a fan base that are used to winning at the highest level.
  11. Think he meant HC instead of HS. Golden was the head coach at University of San Francisco before taking the Florida job.
  12. He was committed to Minnesota as a LB, and I think he was committed to UCF prior to that as a TE. Yes, he is at TE for us.
  13. Great update. I have faith that our starting OL will be much improved over our OL for much of last year. Our OL at the end of last year was pretty solid, so we'll see if there are significant improvements over that group. It's great to see positive notes on McCutcheon after all of the attention (rightfully so) on C. Coleman and Bishop this spring.
  14. If he has a good year, he might go to the NFL next year.
  15. Correct - Siani is a redshirt junior this year.
  16. He would be a great fit for what the Cowboys need at LB. They might be able to trade down somewhat (from either 12 or 20), get an extra day two pick and still get him.
  17. Thanks for the update. I hope he is our starting LT in 2027. Any word on why the coaches are playing Newman (who I also like a lot) at 2nd team LT while Turntine is at 2nd team RT? If for some reason the coaches want to move him inside, I think he would be a terrific C with his skill set and intelligence (although it would not fully utilize his elite agility like playing T would).
  18. He might want a bigger role and/or a bigger NIL deal than we could afford. He would have been a nice role player to have back, but I'm not that too surprised by this. His playing time was cut down toward the end of the year. I will always remember the big shot he made to beat Gonzaga. I hope he lands in a great spot with plenty of playing time in his senior year.
  19. Given this signing and news about Sikorski and Christian getting 1st team snaps at G, is there any news on how Chatman is looking this spring? I really liked him as a recruit and he has looked solid in limited snaps but has had bad injury luck. I hope he is healthy and having a good spring.
  20. BTW - I’m skeptical of the Duke total. I think it is likely higher.
  21. Great graphic. Thanks for posting. We need to get to the spending levels of other SEC football schools like Bama and Tenn.
  22. That is remarkable gift that he shares with some of our greatest political figures. Like Alex wrote, I wish I had a little of that gift. FDR supposedly could do the same thing, except he could also remember all the names of someone’s family members that he met on the campaign trail several years earlier.
  23. I like his film as well, and he gives us a good C prospect in addition to Miller, who I also really like. @Gerry HamiltonIs Ramsier supposed to OV on 6/19? He would give us an additional good C prospect.
  24. Great article, Jeff. To further your point, Jonte Newman was listed at 275 lbs as a recruit but was listed on A&M's roster last year as a true freshman at 331 lbs. He is now listed on our roster at 302 lbs and looked good in the pictures I saw from yesterday's practice. I liked him (and his teammate Ryan Fodje) during the recruiting process. Even though he is a little shorter at 6'4", he has great length and moves really well. I hope he can make an impact for us at OT at some point. As I posted before, I am really interested to see how Jordan Coleman looks this spring. He has great height, length, and strength, but did not move as well as some others in his HS film. He has clearly dropped some bad weight (and added some good weight since he is still 354 lbs) based on the pictures I saw from yesterday. I am interested to see how he is moving now and whether he can stay at OT or needs to be moved inside to OG.
  25. Exactly. It is not a coincidence that ambitious Big 12 and ACC schools are pushing for this option.
