  1. As with everyone else, I'm in total agreement. The other Big 12 schools keep talking trash about how they're glad Texas is leaving the conference. That's great, no more Texas on the schedule and see how your attendance (which includes ticket sales, hotel bookings, restaurant patrons, etc. do). In addition to football, pretty much every other sport's attendance is spiked when Texas comes to town (as the good guy or bad guy) like the volleyball team. It's always a packed house when the Longhorns come to play.
  2. I think they are scared, Bobby stated on one of the streams, this is potentially another big window for Texas if the QBs they have in the pipe are as good as we think. A la the 2000s Texas or Bama recently. Thus their hope is that the good QBs in waiting transfer away. In today's world of me first and I wanna start now, it's nice to see the Mannings play the long game.
  3. I watched this interview of Jake Majors on 3rd and Longhorn on YouTube and one of the points that caught my attention was Alex Okafor talking about how the culture is different with Sark with regards to former players. At about the 3:20 mark, Okafor talks about how while he was in the league, Herman did not allow him to use the weight room. I would think that you'd want NFL players to hang around the team to provide insight and support but I guess that's another reason I'm glad Sark's here.
  4. But are they roomates?
  5. Outside of College Station, the negative PR hit would be so massive (scared of Texas) that I think it would severely damage their ability to recruit, even with NIL. Add that to trying to get local kids to tell their families they would be playing way far away from home. So imo, yes even bigger than Jimbo. He was still bringing in talent.
  6. They have to be thinking about what would happen should any penalties come down on the program. Harbaugh leaving doesn't alleviate Michigan of any faults if they indeed are proven to have committed acts that incur penalties.
  7. I would agree with that - human nature is that they don't want to be considered the person that "broke the damn" or "started the exodus" but if someone else goes first, then they can point the finger at someone else.
  8. It's not like the NCAA is going to do anything about it.
  9. People tend to highlight the negative things and tend to forget the positives. For example - no one ever thanks the payroll team when they get their paychecks (which happens every week, other week, or monthly for years, but they are quick to complain when a mistake happens for whatever reason (system error, manager forgets to approve time, etc.)
  10. I think it stemmed from Mike Davis doing a holster motion after a TD and getting flagged for taunting. Mack Brown said in a post game interview that it shouldn't have been a taunting penalty if horns down isn't a penalty.
  11. I agree with you. Pretty much no Longhorn cares about someone doing a horns down. I think if Texas turns it around like some have suggested into a secondary gesture (mess with the bull, you get the horns pointed down) then it'll be a forgotten thing. Something like horns up to start the games, horns down on attack mode, horns back up to finish the game.
  12. You're probably right, in today's world the portal is practically free agency like the NFL. Rosters can be completely overhauled in a season or two. It's hard to keep recruited talent if they aren't seeing the field quickly. It's one of the qualities that made Brooks special, he could have entered the portal but waited his turn and is now one of, if not the top RB in the draft.
  13. Question for me is - does Sark start the games with the "explosive" grouping to try to score fast and early and then pound out the time of possession after that, or does he start more "generic" and march down the field trying to wear out the defense first. I'm thinking the former.
  14. That's the shady part right there, Harbaugh wanting immunity basically screams guilt to me.
  15. I don't pretend to have any information, but my understanding is that Sark likes to keep a fairly close balance to keep the defense guessing.
  16. Wouldn't that strategy only be able to protect Michigan's roster for 1 semester? As I think the players could portal after Spring as well. It could allow the next coach to build relationships to try to mitigate the impact so still could be effective.
  17. Since Harbaugh was able to win a championship, would the Michigan faithful be ok if he leaves them gutted by leaving and taking most of the staff, or would they be happy about the championship?
  18. This logic makes a lot of sense. Only possible reason that he would ride the bench is if NIL can fill that void of playing time.
