  1. Are you referring to the uNLv QB? If so, you’re leaving out a big part that was/is NIL related. Unlike Nico, who appears to have been asking for more NIL money; Sluka did not receive what he was promised by one of his coaches. And because he didn’t receive promised NIL funds, he decided to save a year of his eligibilty (to have another year of being able to earn NIL).
  2. I agree with much of what you write. You lose me with the kkk thing. But appreciate the rest. NIL is a form of professional model. It’s not an amateuristic model. Long past due imo. There is waaaay too much money in college athletics; so much so that the cost of a college education as form of payment is no longer commensurate with how much is generated for the schools by the athletes. Just my opinion.
  3. I hope not. Every young man has the right to do what he thinks is best for he and his family. You and I don’t have to agree with their decision or the method to their decision. This is the NIL world now.
  4. I’m referring to you saying he is the first to do it. He isn’t. And I don’t think he will be anywhere near being the last.
  5. Good Lord this thread is wack. A player should be able to determine was is best for them; (just like a head coach does when they bounce from one job to another). The school and coaching staff should be able to determine what is best for their program. Fans should be able to have an opinion on a players requests/actions and have an opinion on how the school reacts to said requests/demands. For those that didn’t realize or are willing to accept NIL changed college football forever need to sign off the interwebs for a while.
  6. You’re right. Not bash. Just hoping for a kid to fail. That makes it better.
  7. Cmon man. I’m not taking up for anyone. And you know that. Go back and read carefully. Rooting for a kid to fail is the choice you should be questioning. Do better.
  8. Cuz I’m not as tough guy as you and not able to bash a kid online. Salutes to you.
  9. Just don’t mess with the migas…
  10. Why? He kick your dog or something?
  11. I could have a bad memory, but I don't recall MA receiving the same vitriol. But your post makes me rethink. Maybe MA received some of that also. Either way, hating on our own just doesn't sit well or make sense with me.
  12. Simms is sooooo pro-Horns. It would be great for him, and for our fanbase, to see him back around campus imo. I hate to pick at this scar/scab, but I never understood the vitriol towards Simms during his time on the 40. I do understand our fans were divided as to QB preference; MA vs CS, but I never understood why part of the pro-MA side could be so vitriolic towards CS. It just never made sense to me…just like the part of our base that rooted for Coach RT to lose. Unfathomable to me.
  13. Any update on Connor Stroh? I was hoping he would/could develop.
  14. Thanks for posting these updates @GoHorns1
  15. My wife evaluates me on these same principals…
  16. @GoHorns1 Thanks, for posting these updates yesterday.
  17. @CJ Vogel Kaden Scott in San Antonio have a visit set?
  18. I don't have a link, but it is my understanding Kenneth Sims passed away last night. I had the pleasure of meeting Kenneth a couple of times over the years. My brain seems to remember each time being at Scholtz Beer Garten; but part of me thinks that is wrong and it was at a tailgate. Too long ago for me to remember where. But while I didn't have long conversations with him, I do remember he was witty, funny, and just a super nice guy. Seemed to be the kind of guy people gravitated towards. Also, he had the biggest hands on a human that I've ever seen in person. RIP Kenneth.
  19. Fantastic interview.
  20. Not a fan. It’s Biggio in the OF part 2. Also, I think we’re going to see more opponents trying to stretch a single to a double this season.
