Who works the loop holes the best and quickest around the house settlement have an advantage IMO.
Is it even loop holes? It seems more like swiss cheese full of holes. FMV is the most unprovable thing in all this NIL. Deloitte trying to limit NIL value arbitrarily is going to be met with law suits from the jump. SCOTUS already warned NCAA that they cannot limit NIL.

I get what you are trying to say but Texas is spending $30+ million on their roster this year. People trying to question if they are “willing to play ball” is tiring.
You can’t say you understand not wanting to overpay then turnaround and say but I kind of want them to overpay.
Markets are ever evolving, look at basketball. Last years 5-6 million dollar rostes are now 8-10 million dollar rosters.

MISS ON BALL
MISS ON OSBORNE
MISS ON EDWARDS
Not good if we can’t close on an instate top running back.
But what if we close on equally ranked OOS RB?

If this were true, we wouldn't be in the current situation we are in.
We are going to be fine, but this is 2025. We need to stop pretending like "winning" and "positions looking good on the field" is going to magically fill recruiting needs. If that were the case, A&M would sign classes ranked in the 20s every year.
People need to look at recruiting as a business and quit looking at it like it’s anything but transactional.

Yep these schools are throwing haymakers in June. Texas throws their haymakers in November and December. It's like watching a boxing match.
Strategy may need to be adjusted moving forward though due to being able to sign immediately with the rev share and locking in.

Nope
It’s just an overall down year in the state imo.

Sucks about James Lott. What about Jalen?
ok now being serious, losing a legacy to the biggest fraud coach in football would be a bad look.

Some kids want their own legacy…

so who we still have a shot at? last years rbs were just guys need to find get that special back or two to keep it going.
No one, class is doomed! DOOMED I TELL YOU!

A development that may work in our favor with a few guys coming up.
Very true. Also considering our roster at the position it seemed like 2 RB class wasn't going to work regardless especially with the board of RBs we had in 2026 class.

This is what our class looked like at this time last year:
KJ Lacey
Lance Jackson
Elijah Barnes
James Simon
Coleman triplets
Emaree Winston
End of list.
Not sure how you can say they are slow playing guys when they sit with 2x the commitments they had at this time a year ago.
But this year seems different in terms of the cancelling of visits and quick decisions. It's kind of interesting new development.

The Mods always say Texas doesn't lead with NIL, and lets these guys get offers from other schools first before making their "best" offers.
Because Texas doesn't lead with NIL doesn't mean there isn't offers.

I don't think there's any doubt the greatest college QB for a season was Joe Burrow. Next is Mac Jones or Cam Newton. Teebow. Maybe Nebraska Frazier (multiple titles). Vince beat USC. Doesn't make him better than the likes of those guys over their college careers.
Nice goal post move

I was responding to what they did "at Texas." That said, I don't really think people outside of Longhorn fans would say Vince is a top ten QB all time.

He's top 5 in multiple different videos from ESPN

James Street was undefeated as a starter at Texas. Makes him better than Vince.
That's cool but Vince is considered one of the 5-10 best QBs in the history of the sport, James is not.

Said it before, Think Arch will be the best football player in the world for a long while within three years. Means we need two natty's with him.
Durant played at Texas. Nothing more than that. But that's a lot.
The Mount Rushmore is about AT Texas, not as a pro so what they did post Texas is irrelevant to this conversation.

Bobby got it right. Earl was the best football player in the world from 1979-1981 . Durant best basketball player in the world from 2015-2019. Scheffler best golfer in the world from 2023-. Could argue Clemens was the best baseball player in the world at some point.
What does 2015-2019 have to do with Durant at Texas? TJ Ford is more significant in Texas basketball than Kevin Durant.
Crenshaw was better at Texas than Scheffler.

James won multiple titles. Earl just flat better.
James only won 1 title as a starter.

I understand that. Vince Texas career wasn't better than Earl or James.
Vince is better than James, Earl I could agree.

Probably in the minority. Don't think Vince is really very close to the greatest Longhorn football player. Earl is the only Longhorn who was the best football player in the world at some point. He's the greatest. James Street is next in terms of winning and championships. Probably thirty or more better than Vince in the NFL. Vince was the best player on the last National Championship team. Doesn't make him better than other Longhorns who performed better in the long term.
This isn't about NFL or pro careers, this is about at Texas.
