  1. When CDC was interviewed by Newy Scruggs a few weeks ago, he talked about the high standard set for all sports and when he’s evaluating who he wants to pursue as next HC in any of UT’s sports, CDC builds 3 lists. 1. The Ultimate Wish List 2. The Guys You know you can get 3. Guys to Avoid (He called it the ‘poop list’) With all the new resources UT has for basketball, including new state of the art arena, plus the fact that Wonens basketball has turned around quickly over past few years under coach Schaefer and reality that men’s basketball is one of two legit revenue generating sports for the university, betting this time around, CDC will only be looking at 1 list and its who are the Top 3-5 guys on his ultimate Wish List. Basketball Coaches who have proven they can quickly turn a program around &/or they’ve consistently won at highest level: Ultimate Wish List: 1a) Nate Oats, 1b) Scott Drew, 2) TJ Otzelberger, 3) Grant McCasland Other Dark horse options that could be interesting: 4) Pat Kelsey, 5) Royal Ivey SI COTY candidates includes a few other interesting potential targets https://www.si.com/college-basketball/mens-college-basketball-coach-of-the-year-candidates
  2. Losing 7 of last 9 with ugly losses 2 of the worst teams in SEC this month, can’t wait to see who CDC hires as our new head coach. Has to be much better than this. My best wish list for Longhorns new head coach is: 1) Scott Drew - 2021 natty and 3 consecutive Big12 COTY. After 22 seasons, it’s time for Drew to make the jump and help put Texas on top of SEC. Austin is a much better longterm home versus Waco or Bloomington, Ind. Better resources, better weather, much better university. Drew is even more proven than Beard with high character, sustained success. 2) Nate Oats - Obvious top choice for lots of reasons but cost of contract buyout makes this less likely 3) Royal Ivey is much less traditional but shows lots of upside. Think this is too risky and unproven for CDC. hook em! 🤘🏼🐂🧡
  3. Love that Texas has fastest WR clocked at combine in back to back years. hook em! 🤘🏼🐂🧡
  4. Wow, that’s awesome for Golden. Says a lot about both guys when Golden sets fastest time and chose to be humble in advance while Bond called his shot, with guarantee in interviews yesterday that he’d run 4.19 or better and set new record. Very cool for Golden to be fastest WR after round 1.
  5. Awesome. Our guys came ready to show out. Love it. Can't wait to see what Bond and Blue put up tomorrow in the 40.
  6. Barryn is killing it. Love to see he is maximizing results at the Combine. Awesome!!!! Hook em!
  7. In CDC, I trust he'll set the bar high and the Horns will have a top-tier HC for men's basketball in the next 2 months. Love how all other Longhorn sports are positioned with strong leadership and impressive results from Football, Baseball, Swim/Dive, Golf, Women's Basketball, Volleyball, the list goes on. It's awesome. Men's basketball has regressed the past 2 seasons and seems to be the one sport that we're not in top tier of all major sports. CDC talks about "the standard" set for all sports across the university. Look forward to seeing the path ahead. Hook Em!
  8. Congrats to Jahdae. In the interview today, JB sounded disappointed with his time.
  9. Awesome!!
  10. 4.68 in the 40. Good for Barryn Sorrell! Hook em!! 🧡🐂🤘🏼
  11. Florida should get more respect. Glad we play them in Sept. I hope our new OL gets quickly.
  12. Every time I watch / listen to Sark in an interview, it makes me grateful to have him as our head coach. All class! Yes, Sark is proving to be one of the elite head coaches in college football (recruiting, game plan strategist, player development, culture, etc) but he also shows a consistent high character that demands respect, whether it’s in these interviews or in other settings. It comes across so authentically when he talks and it doesn’t just sound like BS coach speak. I hope Sark stays at UT for the next decade. Realize that’s likely wishful thinking but he’s got our team rolling. Don’t slow down coach!! Hook em! 🤘🏼🧡🐂
  13. Sark talks about cancelling the spring game, recruiting, facilities, NIL and how he's moving more to an NFL schedule. Good stuff. Hook em!!
  14. For CJ’s longterm health, I hope he doesn’t rush his rehab. If that means he rehabs another full 12 months and returns the spring of 2026 at 100% then good for him and the Horns. 🤘🏼 Would be a disaster if Baxter had to go through another tear of his ACL because he rushed and came back too soon. Look at Jonathan Brooks and his re-injury of same knee (re-tore ACL in non contact injury) with Indianapolis Colts after ~13 months of rehab last Dec. Sucks for JB because this next rehab is expected to be even longer. CJ, come back when 100% ready then be our rockstar RB in 2026! Hook em! 🧡🐂🤘🏼 https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/42877330/panthers-rb-jonathon-brooks-again-tears-acl-right-knee
  15. Just watched TalkingBall with @Bobby Burton @Gerry Hamilton and @Rod Babers. Love the authentic excitement from all three of you guys. OTF is the GodFather of Texas Longhorns football news. You guys rock!!!
  16. Can’t wait to hear Rod’s reaction!! This seems like a great hire for many reasons. Fired up!! Hook em! 🧡🐂🤘🏼
  17. @Gerry Hamilton do you think CDC still lets next couple weeks play out or will he pull the trigger next week re: RT? Was South Carolina debacle the final straw regardless of what happens in remainder of season? With other programs expected to make a change in head coach, is there a big advantage formally starting search in the next week rather than waiting for season to officially conclude?
  18. If we can’t get proven home-run like Oates, I like the idea of Royal Ivey as our next HC a lot. It’s definitely out of the box. Big upgrade over current situation. With Ivey, it would be building for long-term. Proven to be excellent coach, players would love him. The fan base and donors would quickly get behind Ivey as momentum turns for the better.
  19. Even though Florida is playing excellent basketball, you can mark Todd Golden off the list. His sexual harassment claims last year by UF several female students isn’t a good look. Especially after Chris Bears incident, character and clean record are important.
  20. It’s time for CDC to start the formal search. Blowout loss to Gamecocks was final nail in the coffin. Couple of coaches that would be interesting: 1) Nate Oates (home run hire but massive buyout makes this reach seem unlikely). Recruiting, coaching, second to none, etc. 2) Royal Ivey - strong history with UT, deep experience in NBA as player and assistant coach. Proved to have strong coaching chops as head coach of South Sudan team starting in 2021. Nearly beat US before 2024 Olympics. SSD became the Cinderella story at 2024 Olympics. Love his story as a player and coach. 3) Not a ton of exciting options out there but definitely some solid options that would be big upgrade over current staff. +McCasland has gotten Texas Tech on right track. +Rick Pitino has turned St John’s around. CDC likely wants to go younger. + TJ Otzelberger - Has Iowa State playing well the past several years.
  21. The silver lining to our Horns getting blown out by 0-13 last place South Carolina in late February is that it’s no longer a debate for CDC. RT is a very nice guy but he is not up to the ‘standard’ at UT. It’s time for change in the head coach at UT. Don’t wait. Pull the trigger this next week, install interim HC and get ahead of the coaching search by starting now: In CDC’s interview with @Bobby Burton yesterday, CDC used the analogy of being the captain of an aircraft carrier versus a motor boat on the lake. Both float and have a motor but it takes a different level of talent to be the captain of the Texas Longhorn aircraft carrier in each sport. Texas Longhorns deserve better. The past several years have been painful following the Great 8 run. It’s time to move forward. With the right coach, we can begin to have reason for optimism next season. im looking forward to seeing how CDC decides to proceed with upgrading the coaching in men’s basketball. Hook em! 🧡🤘🏼🐂
  22. I appreciate the integrity of these guys giving credit where due for the first to report “breaking news”. I recall Bobby doing the same when Anwar broke the news on Orphey hire. Anwar reciprocated with recognition to @Bobby Burton re: Sark’s hire of Chad Scott. It has to be tough getting news like this on new coaching hires, confirming its accuracy, etc and working to be first to break the news publicly, knowing you have to be right. Kudos to @Bobby Burtonon having the sources to confirm with confidence. Love it and love this hire. Classic Sark hire. Hook em!! 🧡🤘🏼🐂
  23. Agree. I’m sure there’s a story behind Norton’s choice to wear #15. Unusual to see a big interior DL choose a number typically worn by QB, WR, RB, DB, etc. Wish Bill Norton success at the next level. He made some clutch plays for us at big moments. Hook em! 🧡🐂🤘🏼
  24. Would love to see CDC go after Nate Oates but his $18m buyout that was included in new 6yr contract is a killer.
  25. Awesome 2nd half for the Lady Longhorns after being down 9 at half. Great win over Kim Mulkey and LSU! Hook em! 🧡🤘🏼🐂
