  1. Some of the takes on this thread are comical. First we have trolls galore and threads like this bring them out of their gay closet. Second we have Negative Nancies of Doom Gloom Agony of Defeat and Despair and they are only happy when they are NOT happy. Third we have real posters who are just disappointed at the result, but don't freak out over the entire program. Back in 2020 we would have killed to be in the position we are in now. Sark has put us in that position. There are a handful of programs competing for the top players in the nation. Texas, AL, tOSU, MI, LSU, USC, Floriduh State, and even, yes, aTm. Every time a player chooses one of those programs, then the other programs lost out on him. That's just how this works. And it will continue to work that way. NIL changed everything and Sark and co decided not to set a precedent when the price got over a certain amount. OR was going to outbid us no matter what because they are desperate and Texas has Quinn and Arch waiting in the wings. We lost on DK...but we're not about to lose on many others. We have a WR room that everyone else would kill for. So in the end, we pushed Knight to pay more than "market value"...a very loose term, BTW, since DK has done ZERO at the college level. For my money I think this brings Kelshaun Johnson back as a possibility. I like Hines. I like Ffrench. Lockett. I bet we get 2 of those. Knight ain't paying $1.3M for everybody. FWIW I wouldn't try to circle around and get DK later. We rolled out the red carpet and he burned us. That's just recruiting. God bless you all and Happy 4th of July!
  2. I'm walking away...if we lose, we lose...and if we "win"...not even sure I call it a win. I played golf for Texas...but this whole ordeal makes me sick...because this particular "recruitment" is just the tip of the NIL iceberg in the end...today's "verdict" just becomes the new standard in what we used to call "recruiting"
  3. at this point what difference does it make?
  4. We're playing with house money at this point. I knew Flood was good, but he's been even better than advertised.
  5. hmmm...wait til you get a load of January and Bledsoe...THEN let's talk
  6. well...with an attitude like that, you'll never make it as a Negative Nancy or troll. lol
  7. You're one of my favorites...but the truth is Sanders...like ALL HS athletes...are "developmental"...maybe he makes it maybe he doesn't, but ALL of them are nothing in HS in comparison to what they become once they mature JMO!
  8. Did you want Flood fired in November of 2021? Asking for Negative Nancy.
  9. I can see why people are a little concerned, but we need to let it play out. Sark is a winner, not a whiner. Still a long ways from December.
  10. hmmm...a committed prospect "announcing"...I'm usually the positive attitude guy...but count me out on that one...
  11. try this one on for size: windy tv
  12. so did Smith Orogbo commit or not? Reported on IT that he did, but I trust Gerry much more...hmmm
  13. You have to believe with a build like that and his speed to boot that he would make for a devasting LB as well.
  14. all but maybe 4 or 5 teams would kill to be in our position...we're fine...remember Nov of 2021? We had posters wanting to fire Flood. This is big boy recruiting...it ain't for the feint of heart
  15. you Aggies just wish you were in a position to lose some great prospects
  16. the name "Anding Anding" is just so cool. lol
  17. RIP...met him at a Mexican Restaurant back in 1997. Nice guy. Very down to earth.
  18. Gerry not saying anything...yet...I guess we'll see...of course it WAS expected anyways...they only thing more sure would be a Scottie win⛳
  19. there's some claiming it...perhaps true?
  20. long term I project Lance Jackson to be very much like Malcom Brown...fast, physical, and REAL GOOD yes...just a guess on my part, of course...but he's so big already...I think he will be a BAMF at DT
  21. BTW...my comparison for him...very Colin Simmons-ish...not as big, but great closing speed, knows how to wrap...over-runs the play at times, but his issues can be coached...my guess is he will gain 20 (from what we saw on HUDL) or so lbs before he enrolls in January
  22. so we have a chance? lol yeah...I'm not predicting but I'll make a wild guess and say he's a Longhorn
