  1. Can't earn trust of the staff if you're going to commit penalties as often as he has.
  2. Lol that's crazy
  3. Yes, suffered a hip pointer on the third snap of the game. Practiced on Monday, however.
  4. Ole Miss - Texas would be such an awesome game.
  5. Not bad when you see seven snaps and come away with an INT.

  7. Miss State, congrats on your 5-star QB.
  8. Brent Venables and the OU offense have made a change at quarterback. Freshman Michael Hawkins has been named the starting quarterback for the Sooners. Oklahoma goes on the road this weekend to Auburn where they are currently 2.5-point favorites.
  9. Certainly agree lol
  10. Sarkisian says the experience of Ewers having been injured in the past will go into the decision making for his availability this weekend for the SEC opener.
  11. Sarkisian says athletic linebackers with the way that teams spread the field is crucial and believes that Texas has done a fine job of addressing that need.
  12. I asked Sarkisian about the proclivity of Arch Manning throwing the football downfield as the QB at Texas. So far this season, 25.5% of Manning's pass attempts have traveled 20+ yards. Sark says it was the byproduct of a few things – 1. the gameplan had a lot of deep shots on it, and 2. Manning learning when and how to check the ball down instead of forcing it down the field. Sarkisian says it was a great learning moment for Manning to get those reps and realize when to check it down, but also for him to realize when to call the freeby plays and to get a deeper understanding of Manning's tendencies in game.
  13. Sark says Arch Manning is a conscientious guy. Says he will get more loose and comfortable with the more reps he gets in live situations.
  14. Sark: Whether it is the Big 12 or the SEC, the expectation is we are competing for conference championships and national championships.
  15. Sarkisian says the mental intensity needed to compete in the SEC is higher than in most other conferences.
  16. "The way we look at it, this is an SEC Championship Game... with no divisions, you better finish at the top (of the SEC standings)."
  17. Sarkisian says the staff will monitor opponent's injury reports but won't but all of their eggs in the basket of what other teams say.
  18. WR DeAndre Moore did practice today as well. (hip pointer)
  19. Sarkisian says the Texas offense really has not had to change too much due to the RB injuries so far this season. "We believe in running the football, we believe in running between the tackles." Sark mentions having a veteran QB helps in all facets.
  20. "We have an NFL offense, which is why I think it was attractive for those guys to want to come." – Sarkisian speaking on the four new faces in the WR room choosing Texas at some point this offseason.
  21. Sarkisian says the staff wanted to get the five best defensive backs on to the field this season. Mentioned that if the staff kept Jahdae Barron at STAR, one of Barron and Jaylon Guilbeau would be standing on the sideline next to him.
  22. On the LB group: Sarkisian says the two defensive players of the game were both linebackers which speaks to the depth and talent in that room. "We have always felt very highly of Lefau." On TyAnthony Smith: "I thought we were getting a developmental player... He is very instinctual." Sarkisian says Texas feels very good about the LB position as well.
