TE Gunnar Helm on being labeled more a receiving TE during his time at Texas:
“I would say that maybe I am labeled more of a wide receiver right now. Going back to my film and my first three years at Texas, I played a lot of college football at a very high level. I played in a very high powered, high-level, high-IQ offense for a long time and I’d like to say I know that offense like the back of my hand.
I think my versatility and my IQ sets me apart a little bit. I like to think I can go into a building and vibe very well with guys. I’d like to think I was a part of a class that changed the culture and changed the dynamic in the locker room, alongside guys like Jake Majors, Hayden Conner and Quinn Ewers. We learned from guys like Roschon Johnson and Bijan Robinson, Moro Ojomo, DeMarvion Overshown, guys like that. They left the program in pretty good hands.”
