  1. It was crazy Texas stuck around as long as they did even without a visit. Testament to the national reputation that Sarkisian and Texas have built for themselves.
  2. Looks like Oklahoma stopped by Alamo Heights today as well.
  3. Crazy to say considering he is at Alabama, but it's something I pondered as well.
  4. 2024 five-star WR Ryan Williams has re-committed to Alabama. Williams was expected to be on campus this weekend for an official visit with Texas, however that visit was cancelled and you can see now why the reason was. First big win for Kalen DeBoer as the head coach of the Tide.

  6. Mukuba is probably the odds on favorite. Moore is my favorite here. I love his addition off the edge.
  7. In the final Big 12 season David Pierce's squad will partake in, there is some heavy preseason recognition headed their direction. LHP Lebarron Johnson Jr. was named the preseason Big 12 Pitcher of the Year. OF Will Gasparino took home the preseason Freshman Player of the Year award as well. Gasparino was a top 75 MLB Draft prospect by several scouting services prior to his enrollment to The University of Texas. There were six unanimous selections for the preseason first team All-Big 12 lineup, OF Porter Brown was one of them. Brown hit .323 with 12 HR and 59 RBI in 2023.
  8. That's three visits from/by the Texas staff and Elijah Bo Barnes in the last week. Nansen stopped by last week to watch a workout, the junior day and now today.
  9. Anthony Wheeler I believe
  10. Couldn’t agree more.
  11. It feels like it could be a wide open conversation. If Alfred Collins ends up being the best Def. player for Texas next year, the iDL will no longer be a weak spot or question mark. If I could call my shot, I would bet Anthony Hill Jr. becoming the most impactful Longhorn on the defensive side of the ball in 2024.
  12. From what I have heard, Texas was pretty upfront in the recruitment with Muhammad that he would have to come in and compete for a starting spot. Oregon basically has the approach that he can come in and have the job immediately.
  13. I am a big time fan of his game.
  14. You can expect some winter conditioning workout updates here soon. Texas is just getting started this week.
  15. 4.5 is my bet. It is very possible Mitchell is the sixth WR off the board and still finds himself going round one. It's that deep of a WR group this year.
  16. Watts missed the entirety of the Oklahoma and Houston games with injury, then played just one snap against Texas Tech. His adjusted snap count for games he was healthy for is right around 60%. I do not have specific numbers for tight games however.
  17. Will certainly help having a third year Quinn Ewers in the system as well. Ultimately, I don't think the offense looks all that different. Perhaps a bit more vertical, but that split of run-pass under Sarkisian will always be evident in his offsenses.
  18. The door has yet to shut, but it certainly doesn't indicate the door re-opening. I expect a decision to come later this week, still however, I am trending away from Texas.
  19. Texas offered 2025 Alamo Heights ATH Michael Terry III over the weekend during the Junior Day. Terry did not shy away from discussing how much the Texas offer meant to him. Following the trip, Terry mentioned Texas joined TCU and Texas Tech in his top 3 grouping. Should Texas fully pursue Terry, I would give them the nod in this recruitment. There are some connections to the Texas program here that will work in the Longhorns' favor behind the scenes. The Longhorns did not discuss a specific position on the trip with Terry which is interesting. The do-it-all athlete has been recruited mostly at WR, though there have been other offers ranging across the field, including corner and safety. The 6-foot-3 athlete is ranked as the 11th player in the state of Texas for the 2025 cycle per the composite rankings. Terry's Junior Film: http://www.hudl.com/v/2M8MLy

  21. Oddly enough, the leading snap getters by percentage at Oregon and Texas don't come close to what Muhammad was able to get at Washington. In 2023, Muhammad was on the field for 87.58% of the Huskies' snaps per PFF. Texas' leading CB in terms of snap volume was Terrance Brooks at just over 63%. Four Texas CB saw >34% of the team snaps as well. Leading snap getter at Oregon was Khyree Jackson who saw just over 55% of the Oregon's snaps. However, Oregon is experiencing much more attrition at the position.
  22. Former Washington DB Jabbar Muhammad is in Eugene at the moment wrapping up his official to Oregon. The Ducks, to me, are the favorite to land the former All-PAC 12 cornerback, despite the family ties Muhammad has to Texas. A large reason for that is the snap share Muhammad would have with Oregon, and even Alabama for that matter. It is no secret Texas likes to rotate its defensive backs throughout games and the cornerback position is one that will have several capable bodies fighting for playing time in 2024. Oregon is pitching an immediate starting role for Muhammad. With the former DFW native hoping to increase his draft grade with one final collegiate season, playing time is the highest priority on the list. Immediate play time is biggest differentiator in this recruitment to me, and ultimately one that will decide where Muhammad will end up.

  24. Big fan of Chendall Weaver's game. Provides a nice spark while remaining in control and not becoming a fouling machine.
