Really interesting year for the OL. This is the year Kyle Flood’s “big humans” approach to recruiting really makes its way to the starting lineup. Not necessarily the highest rated classes compared to the epic 2022 class, but ones that Kyle pinpointed for all their upside.
Seems long overdue that Simms shows up on the sidelines for a game. Put him on the Jumbotron and everyone clapping and cheering will be a healing situation for everyone involved.
How we went from Bijan/Rojo era to rushing for 29 total yards and 1.1 YPC against Georgia in October, 31 total yards and 1.1 YPC against Georgia in December, and 58 total yards and 2.0 YPC against Ohio State in January.
Preach. We needed a SEC caliber featured back last season and have only gone backwards with Blue’s departure. If we want to give Arch a chance he needs more starting experience at WR1 and he needs an RB1 that can do more than wide zone.
I think this is sparking more than the usual worries bc we need an influx of elite talent in the RB room. We’ve been in a descending trajectory of talent at the position since Herman left Bijan and Rojo in that room.
Love Mack but his self created press junket has been bizarre to say the least. This is a new era a long ways from his Jamail / McCombs run at Belmont. Time to go fishing.
Relying on CJ being the 2025 change agent at RB is a risk I wouldn’t be taking. Georgia and Bama are great examples of the impact a portal RB can have with Gibbs and Etienne. Both contributed heavily to their 3 victories against us the past few seasons. I think the same could have been said about us if we had a legit star at RB1 in any of those three games, plus the Ohio State game. (Brooks was that star RB for us in Tuscaloosa.)
