    Before I left the field, there were active conversations about P4 splitting away, at minimum in football. In basketball the tournament is still too valuable from a $ perspective right now. I do believe eventually a split will happen, barring any major changes.

    This was the old rule essentially. In most sports you transferred and sat a year. Smaller sports had a one time exception. I was in compliance at DI when the rule changed to allow everyone to transfer. They changed it because they were going to get sued and lose the case otherwise. We (administrators on campus) tried to tell the NCAA for years they needed to be proactive, but instead they took the kick the can down the road mentality. And here we are. The genie isn’t going back in the bottle.

    I don’t know that it will last. Evidenced by how he did in the spring, he is not comfortable out there. To say the least.

    I’m personally fine with that. I know others aren’t though, and that’s fine too.

    This is the realistic outlook fans should have, imo. Of course everyone’s goal is to win a championship, but that doesn’t mean it’s realistic for this program in its current state.

    1. Yes 2. Yes, always rooting for the team to do well. I don’t think RT is the right guy, and I don’t think making the tournament impacts CDC’s decision. That should be the minimum standard at Texas.

    I would argue Duvernay has had a solid NFL career. He carved out a nice role for himself in Baltimore and although he was recently cut by Jaguars, think he did better than many thought he would. Just my opinion.

    OU is the more traditional “rival.” My hatred for A&M, however, runs deep. I grew up in Southeast Texas where almost everyone around me was an Aggie. I was one of a few that went on to UT. Beating A&M gives me immensely more joy than OU. But, I respect OU much more if that makes sense.

    @Blake Munroe thanks for starting this. Curious — are you guys thinking of doing a Watch With Us style livestreams for the baseball games? Even if it’s just for 4 or 5 innings, would love to tune in while watching the games. Thanks for your coverage!

    Bolden and Lole are both out of eligibility. They tried to get Lole an extra year but it didn’t work out.

    Last reports had Campbell coming back for another year, I believe.
