According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, the Longhorns are expected to hire Kenny Baker as their next defensive line coach. Baker, who is currently the assistant defensive line coach for the Miami Dolphins, was previously at Western Kentucky. View full news

Fox Sports just released their latest mock draft this morning and they have Texas DT Byron Murphy II going to the 49ers at the end of the first round. Tonight, Oklahoma’s women’s basketball team beat the Longhorns 91-87. This was a game that everyone pretty much penciled in as a win for Texas, despite it being a rivalry. Needless to say, Horns head coach Vic Schaefer was not happy afterward.

TCU will be one to watch here, unless Texas offers in football. The Horned Frogs are telling Small he can play both sports in Fort Worth,

Austin Anderson outfielder Ed Small has decommitted from the Longhorns baseball program. Small is an elite prospect on the diamond, but has instead decided to focus his efforts on football moving forward. As a wide receiver, the 6-foot-1, 205-pounder already has offers in hand from schools such as TCU, Baylor, Texas State and Tulsa. He was recently on campus for the Texas junior day this past Saturday as well. This past season he hauled in 77 receptions for 1,112 yards and 19 touchdowns. Small was graded a 9.5 by Perfect Game for baseball, which is considered an MLB draft pick in the high rounds. View full news
