  1. TCU will be one to watch here, unless Texas offers in football. The Horned Frogs are telling Small he can play both sports in Fort Worth,
  2. Austin Anderson outfielder Ed Small has decommitted from the Longhorns baseball program. Small is an elite prospect on the diamond, but has instead decided to focus his efforts on football moving forward. As a wide receiver, the 6-foot-1, 205-pounder already has offers in hand from schools such as TCU, Baylor, Texas State and Tulsa. He was recently on campus for the Texas junior day this past Saturday as well. This past season he hauled in 77 receptions for 1,112 yards and 19 touchdowns. Small was graded a 9.5 by Perfect Game for baseball, which is considered an MLB draft pick in the high rounds.

  4. 💯 Going to be an interesting follow.
  5. Also, for those who missed it, I wrote this on Monday regarding the team. More "editorial note" than anything, but I still find it interesting nonetheless.
  6. FYI, LBJ was consistently sitting around 94-96 with his fastball this fall. Has also improved his changeup and slider.
  7. I truly believe Gasparino is going to be so much fun to watch this year. LBJ will be money, but the big question is, what are we going to get out of Witt? THAT is the million dollar question. And the bullpen has plenty of potential and a lot of question marks Porter Brown and Peyton Powell are going to be a major boost. I also expect Flores to take the next step.
  8. I don’t think there’s any hoping to that unless they just have a disaster of a combine. That’s a sure fire bet, imo. My question is where does Brooks go? Does someone take a chance and go earlier than expected? Or does he fall and fall due to ACL?
  9. I’m with Bobby and CJ on this. My guess is 4.48-4.51. Somewhere right in there.
  10. I let the cat out of the bag this morning on C&F, but I'll tell it all again here. We will be sitting down with Coach Pierce tomorrow and that video will come out soon afterward (I assume, anyway, but @Bobby Burton will know better than I). I'm working on a preview for you guys. I actually just finished the projected lineup right before typing this message as I wait at the doctor's office for my son's appointment. Hoping to have it out the first of next week, after the Pierce interview. And, last but not least, former Longhorn player/Asst. AD-Baseball Operations Drew Bishop is going to sit down with me to do an in-depth season preview breakdown. We are 23 days away from the start of the season and only ten days away from the Alumni game!
  11. Just out of curiosity, who is your all time favorite Longhorn, regardless of sport, and why do you feel that way? No wrong answers here. Doesn't even have to be an athlete. I'll start. Mine is Colt McCoy. No one gave him much of a chance when he signed and Jevan Snead (Stephenville) was going to be the future. McCoy beats him out and eventually grew into one of the best quarterbacks to ever play not only at Texas, but in all of college football at the time. By the time he ended his career, he owned 47 school records. Incredibly good guy off the field as well.
  12. This is worth a listen.

  13. In all seriousness, I can’t help it. I go to bed around midnight and wake up at 5 AM every morning. Never fails. Drop my kid off so he can go work out before school (he goes at 5:45) and then come home and read Jay Bilas “gotta go to work” quote of the day, listen to what Inky Johnson posts each morning and that’s my every morning routine. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, lol.

  17. Bridgeland (Cypress) 2025 offensive tackle Jonte Newman just dropped his top 8 schools on Twitter. The 6-foot-4, 275-pounder is ranked a four-star in the On3 Industry Rankings and the No. 343 player overall. This past season he was a unanimous District 16-6A first-team selection.

  19. This morning we had Pleasant Grove head coach Josh Gibson on Coffee and Football. Coach Gibson sees Lance Jackson nearly everyday and raved about the type of person he is both on and off the field. However, this stuck out to Bobby, CJ and I as much as anything.
