  1. I’ve actually had a few people reach out to me regarding the position. Some names I would have never expected. Let’s just say this position has garnered a lot of big time interest.
  2. posted this in its own thread, but…
  3. We are down to 20 days until the Horns face the Buckeyes for the season opener. This would normally be the part where I ask “who is your favorite No. 20 to play for Texas?” Not today. Earl Campbell. And since YouTube isn’t embedding properly, here’s a link to his highlights at Texas… 8 mins worth: https://youtu.be/kQ9qqVa11k0?si=h5-SFmV-15Zrtoty
  4. I’m not a big NFL guy by any means, but apparently he didn’t coach last year and his last season in the NFL wasn’t good. With that said, he obviously didn’t just land an NFL DC job by sheer luck. He was a DB coach for the Patriots and won three Super Bowls there. Eventually left for Miami, where he worked for three years and then was let go. It sounds like he will be heavily involved with tOSU DC Matt Patricia.
  5. This is a doozy and it starts with @Gerry Hamilton’s guy LaNorris Sellers. https://youtu.be/3-Tqb7slUk4?si=qnhGCp0xQ4zPxBRv
  6. Thanks for joining us here at OTF! My wife is an Aggie too, but thankfully she doesn’t root for them. Unlike most of our subscribers, I actually like Joey (although not a huge fan of his collegiate antics), but one of my best friends is a Tech alum and I love giving him hell when they lose. With that said, I think they will fare well this year. They better! Arkansas I just can’t get on board with. Regardless, again, thanks for joining the site! We hope you enjoy your time here and our constant growing community truly is one of the best aspects of this place. While OTF is obviously full of Texas fans (except @Joe Zura… he has Oregon blood in his veins), it’s also full of people who just love football (amongst other sports). No matter who we all root for, one thing is for sure… we are ALL glad college football is back.
  7. I need to start jogging (and working out) around that time daily. I usually jog Indian Creek area by my house mid-day, but I feel like I need to start doing more exercise early AM. And yes, hard to believe it’s here!
  8. Just my .02…. It will be on a screen pass.
  9. Georgia actually has a weaker one from the rankings I’ve seen.
  10. I guess you could go Blake Gideon? Only other one I can come up with off the top of my head. I believe Ryan Niblett is the current No. 21.
  11. I was feeling it for sure. Now tonight is date night before my wife begins teaching this week, so we are napping today.
  12. We didn’t goto bed until about 4 AM. We are beat.
  13. We are exactly three weeks away from the Longhorns opening the season against the Buckeyes in Columbus. Who’s your favorite No. 21 to play for Texas? OTF’s very own Rod Babers gets the top spot today!
  14. That means it’s time for full pads in Texas High School Football! Midnight madness begins across the state!
  15. Clemson technically has the second best odds to go undefeated.
  16. Clemson with the fifth best odds to win it all this year at +1100. Texas +600 Ohio State +650 Georgia +650 Penn State +750 Clemson +1100 Alabama +1100
  17. I have to leave early today, so my chances are ON THE RISE BABY!!!!!
  18. Join us for Coffee and Football today around 8:15 AM. We will talk Texas and take your questions! https://www.youtube.com/live/IYgizN29WPw?si=VLvi17npQ1XuFjU3
  19. We are down to just 22 days before the Longhorns square off against the Buckeyes in Columbus. Who was your favorite Horn to wear number 22? A couple of options include… Bobby Layne Selvin Young
  20. I had Rod B in the hospital room last week!
  21. I’m not surprised that so many picked Roschon and Whittington. So many impactful guys to choose from for so many different reasons, but I knew they would be two that were mentioned a lot… and rightfully so!
  22. @Gerry Hamilton agrees with your friends, fwiw.
  23. A few notes coming out of Ohio State as of this morning: - After the first week or so of practice, the QB competition between Julian Sayin and Lincoln Kienholz is too close to call at this point, says Head Coach Ryan Day. "The competition continues. They both have had good moments and moments where they're growing. I will say I've been pleased with the progress. It's going to go right down to the wire. The positives of having a competition is that you know every day you got to bring it. The guys are always on edge, they're uncomfortable, they're working at it. I think that's healthy for the entire building." - Defensive tackle Eddrick Houston has returned to practice after being injured last week. Houston looks to be a starter against Texas in just a few weeks. - True freshmen Devin Sanchez and Riley Pettijohn, both who were recruited by the Longhorns, have been impressing early. They both have had their "black stripe" removed from their helmet and are only two of four freshmen to be able to do so up to this point. - Ohio State has landed three wide receivers on the Biletnikoff Award Watch list. —— Sunday 10:10 AM Update: Ohio State has added a former NFL DC to their staff. Before becoming the Miami Dolphins coordinator, Josh Boyer coached DBs for the Patriots, winning three Super Bowls in the process.
