  1. I know this may sound silly, but going out there with a smile on your face while you're playing is helpful. Take in the moment, look at your teammates and friends, and just take it all in. Arch gets to do something most people don't have the ability to do, which is be the quarterback for the University of Texas. That's special, and once he internalizes that the faster he'll get over this slump. Also, meditation helps. Clear your mind, thinking about the past is a recipe for depression and thinking about the future is a recipe for anxiety. Be in the moment and enjoy it.
  2. Maybe a speedy receiver?
  3. Maybe his grandfather did know best and wants Arch to stay for 3 years. It's going to get worse before it gets better, but this is what's best for Arch and this team in the long run. Lots of people were so quick to move on from Ewers last year, and now they are ready to move on from Arch. What if we move on from Arch and it doesn't get better? Get another coach? We really have to take our medicine and hopefully support Arch enough so that he starts playing like he did last year.
  4. I've been saying it since OSU: Arch has the yips. When the team sees their QB not being able to complete a pass that he makes in practice in his sleep, everyone loses confidence and everyone starts pressing. Looks like the defense has figured it out, even though our pass rush has been head scratching. This offense will keep looking like this as long as Arch doesn't connect his head to his body when the lights come on. He needs a sports psychiatrist more than a coach right now, which is a terrible spot to be because he has to navigate through this in real time when everyone is watching.
  5. There's no way his family would let him play if he was hurt. He has the yips and he just has to play through it. Until he can get out there and feels like he can perform, we have to keep with whatever offense was trotted out today.
  6. It would be nice to give Arch a little cushion, but yes he needs to exorcise some demons.
  7. We're all underwhelmed and disappointed, so I'm just going to adjust expectations since they were so lofty this past off-season. Serious question to the OTF crew, are we being vanilla on purpose or are we just this bland on offense because we need time to cook? I hope it's the former, but why are we still being vanilla? Why not bust out the playbook? Sark is losing the fans at this point.
  8. Of course UTEP came ready to play, they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Texas was supposed to get right this game and we came away looking for answers. Sark needs to right the ship and in a hurry.
  9. Are you worried about other people worrying about Arch now?
  10. Thoughts now?
  11. Are you worried now?
  12. I've heard all of season that Colin Simmons was playing more with his hand in the ground. Has that been the case at all this season? He either doesn't trust it or I have not been watching closely, but I try to watch Colin Simmons on every play on Saturdays and I don't think he's done that once.
